Hello everyone,
I and a few others have developed and beta tested a new RP site, which is centered around not a ninja theme, but the idea of people developing superhuman abilities (super powers). It is my hope that others, like myself, will enjoy having an alternative RP universe to visit. Just some quick background for you all:
Welcome to Veritas City, one of the safest cities on Earth. In a world similar to our own, but more technologically advanced, this metropolis came to blossom. And with it, so did the crime. The streets were not safe. Gang violence, killings, corporate crime. It seemed the crime rate would continue to grow exponentially.
It got to the point where the city needed to be divided into districts, with massive force field walls dividing them. If you want to cross to a different part of the city, you either need to go through a checkpoint station, or you need to fly over the wall. The areas with the worst crime were separated from the ones which were safer.
Then, something changed. People started developing powers. It didn't matter if they were bit by some radioactive insect, had a mutation in their genes, or if it was all caused by a solar eclipse. People started getting miraculous new abilities. And they used those abilities to fight back. In the same fashion as the comic book characters in their favorite stories, people dawned home made disguises and attacked the criminals plaguing their homes, hoping to rid the streets of crime.
However, the existence of metahumans is still something only a select few are aware of. They have been forced to keep underground, in fear of experimentation or social stratification. Their acts of vigilantism, then, need to remain discrete, to insure their survival. After all, nobody can be sure how the world will react.
