Mitsuko’s inherent understanding of mechanical objects coupled with her natural curiosity when it comes to such things is a clear sign of her gifted intelligence. And, when you take into consideration the years of experience she’s had around a pair of ATs, which have at times been purposefully broken in an effort to determine whether or not she was capable of making them work again, it makes for a set of ten scarily quick and agile digits. Also, thanks to her years of playing the piano and guitar she has acquired the sensitive audible ability to hear the subtlest change in pitch and frequency. A talent that extends to the point of being able to determine the Doppler shift and therefore the velocity of moving objects like passing police cars with their sirens on, without the distraction of having to use her eyes. As for how bright her eyes shine, that is something that can only really be seen when she’s playing the piano, guitar or at work repairing ATs at her part-time job at a new AT store, called Cloud Ten.
Mitsuko is able to tune well under normal conditions, but prefers to listen to anything that has a guitar or piano featuring in the instrumentation when she can. As such, she never leaves for work without her MP3 player which is packed with over sixteen gigabytes of music ranging in genre from classical to metal depending on her current mood. She uses a standard tool belt used by many tradesmen that work in more domestic lines of work and has nearly every AT tool that ever existed under the sun thanks to the young age at which she first started tinkering with ATs.

As expected of an extremely skilful tuner, her air trecks are a unique pair of custom hybrid-wheeled beauties. Modelled on a pair of high-heeled boots, the complicated set-up really pushes the boundaries of what is currently conceived as possible amongst the storm-riding community. The six inch heel is split vertically and adapted so that a classical wheel fits in between the two different forks of the split-heel so that the bottom of the heel is only two inches from the ground when the wheel is fitted. The front platform of the shoe houses a single roller-ball; this particular set-up offers the potential for a fantastic balance between the straight-line power of the classical style of air treck and the advanced steering and technical capabilities of the niche roller-ball type. However, it is extremely difficult to ride and as such it takes a keen understanding of what is possible in terms of both physical movements and component strain. The actual boots are black, and look much like a high-end fashion retailer’s version of a standard issue military style boot except with a fairly large heel and platform. The rear wheel is black, with two large silver diamond shapes drawn on oppsite sides to each other.

Like all girls her age, she’s most often seen in what she thinks is a fairly drab school uniform; she automatically disagrees with anything that makes her look like the rest, even if she does look extremely cute in it. However, when she can escape the prestigious Aoi academy clobber, she abides by a little known saying that first reached her ears thanks to an American cartoonist, Matt Groening. Roughly translated from English to Japanese, he said that ‘A good character should be recognizable by their silhouette’. And whilst she enjoys the tightly fitting, body hugging dresses perfect for a little sing-a-long-and-drink when the sun goes down, she has been known to don a flamboyant, almost certified Cosplay worthy attire that would make any self-respecting avid anime and manga lover bleed from the nose. Skin tight ‘pleather’ makes for most of the very revealing and just plain naughty costume, but the cat ears and the adorable little tail make for one heck of a shadow, especially when cast by a stage spotlight. Indeed, if it weren’t for those animalistic additions, the cute little nineteen year old maiden could easily pass for a dominatrix. Save for these exceptions, her wardrobe line-up is like any other Japanese city girl of her age, if a little more cultured due to her years of extenisve traveling as a child.

The term vibrant doesn’t really cut it; Mitsuko’s out there, there are but a handful of moments in her life when she has taken a back seat to anyone, always preferring the bright and unyielding direct glare of the spotlight to bathing in another’s reflected glory. She’s also very independent, she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to try every tactic in the book to get it, even if that means some underhanded and downright dirty deeds must be done. Normally though, her cute looks, sharp intellect and incredible charisma will put an end to any bumps in the road on the way to success. She does enjoy a good argument with her father at times, who doesn’t? He’s the one person alive with the patience and tact to deal with such a seductively eloquent tongue, and whilst he only ever has what he sees as his only child’s best interests at heart they often come to a head when personalities clash. Sometimes Mitsuko can’t work out how they’re related.
Despite all this though, Mitsuko is not completely unacquainted with loss and whilst this rarely ever shows, the hole within her heart where her mother once went will never truly be healed. Perhaps this sudden and brutal loss of a close one has spawned a little devil inside her head, for despite her good will and generally good behaviour, she does have her moments. A wry little smile will flood the lower half of her face revealing a mischievous, deadly smirk. Thankfully this precursor to ill intentions only ever comes out in the bedroom; maybe this is where the idea of a PVC cat suit first came into fruition, those often overwhelming emotions that somehow spilled out, to splash and spill onto her fashion sense albeit confined to one garment and one garment only.

Overall History 㐅Around the world in nineteen years
Mitsuko’s life started out in a small medical clinic on the outskirts of Tokyo, a small bundle of joy brought into the world amidst the anguished screams of her mother, Aikawa. Even at the tender age of a few minutes old those around her were already being snared by her charm and grace, the attending nurses had to be reminded that such a young child should be allowed to sleep and were rather unceremoniously asked to leave the room by an understandably anxious father, Nijima. Right from the moment of her birth Mitsuko had been blessed with an unnaturally beautiful facade, and so it continued that she was eternally told of her own beauty as her childhood continued. However, it seemed that this was pretty much the only constant in her life, as she grew to the age of five her parents had already re-located twice, moving west across the pacific ocean to live in California and then further west still to the state of Illinois. She became well travelled, obviously it was this that later spawned such an interest in world languages, not to mention the fact that she could already hold a decent, in-depth conversation on recent world developments in five different languages by the time she would have hit high-school. A mean feat for such a youngster, obviously her mother was quite the home school tutor, also starting her off learning not one but two instruments (Piano and Guitar). After Illinois came Washington, then her family hopped the Atlantic Ocean, moving to France for two years, all this time she was being home-schooled by her mother whilst her father went to work as a diplomat working in various different Japanese embassies around the globe. She was eight now, living in country after country and learning all these different languages, she just seemed to have a very good ear for different languages, their different dialects and to be able to understand when a native spoke at their normal tempo and pitch.
It wasn’t until Mitsuko was eleven, living in Munich whilst her father worked the embassy there, that she first came into contact with something remotely related to tuning. The house they had been living in was just over the street from a small mechanic and auto-repair shop aptly named ‘Das Auto-fix’. Ever the inquisitive child, Mitsuko took the first opportunity she could to cross the street and explore the odd little garage for herself, by now they’d been living in the German city for almost half a year and she had a basic grasp on the language. The mechanic there, a giant man with a gentle heart by the name of Hans Becker, after reprimanding the girl for being in such a dangerous place also soon fell under the spell of her innocence. She was such an oddity, a small petite girl who found engines and carburettors interesting and enjoyed fiddling with them until her heart’s content. Her parents soon discovered her little escapades across the road, and after what must have been one of the most surreal arguments either of them had shared, they bought her a pair of ATs. A far less dangerous thing to tinker with but something that would obviously engage her curiosity for all things mechanical and might just stop her from wandering over the road whenever her fingers became idle and inquisitive. Of course, she had no desire to ride them after she took a few too many bruised and scraped elbows and knees, but she was hooked, constantly taking them apart and experimenting with different parts her father would bring home when he arrived back from his work at the embassy. And so it was that as the small family traversed the better part of the free, civilized world her passion, knowledge and collection of tools grew to rather ridiculous heights.
Things continued in much the same fashion as they had until one day Mitsuko’s normally stern but kind hearted father received news of his wife’s sudden, tragic death. The news soon filtered down to his daughter, who didn’t take the news well; well, who would? After being so close to her mother for all these years, having learnt pretty much everything she knew save for the inner workings of a machine from her mother and now she was gone. Business still rolled on as usual though, that was what punctuated the Yamamoto Family name: the ability to continue on through extreme hardship. However, in accordance with her mother’s last will and testament, as well as her devoted husband’s wishes the family having lost one of its members relocated back to Tokyo, the city where she desired to be laid to rest. It was a few weeks after the funeral that the entire world stood still as Tokyo shook beneath the fiendish, oppressive fist of the organization as it destroyed Tokyo Tower and caused a global incident in the name of Air trecks. The months passed, too caught up in her own personal life and too fearful of exactly what was going on in the world of ATs, Mitsuko has yet to compare her skills as a tuner against any other, let alone tell anyone of her talents. It seems that that little part of her life has been put on the back burner so that she can continue with what normality she still has left intact in her life. However, the world of the night works in mysterious ways, and Mitsuko has recently just found a job working in an AT shop in order to fund her expensive taste in clothes.
