Counterstrike is my FPS mistress. I started playing when source came out. I'm a straight office junkie.

I play Cs 1.6 just cause im too poor to buy source. But i think the best level is cs_assualt. Office is just okay. one thing about office is its actually fair. There isnt a gigantic advantage for one team over the other.

on topic i have never made a sig. I tried once and i end up with a fuzzy blob of what was once a picture.

I love office because you can employ all tactics to it. Rush, camp, and flank tactics can be used by both sides with pretty much any weapon.

I'm going to be toying with making myself a graphics sig. Is there any free program out there that would pwn over my lowly MS Paint. I really don't want my labors to produce garbage in hte end because my program sucked.

photoshop the best. You can pirate a copy off torrents. There is another one we used in engineering course last semester but i cant remember what it was.

You dont need talent to make a sig. Once your learn the various techniques you can learn to develop your own style. I am still trying to get the basics down. But i am sure the ones who know what they are doing went through the same stages as those starting out. It's the same with trying anything new. Just remember to accept people critisism because i found in other things thats the easiest way to get better.

Yeah... I was planning to minor in Graphic Design in college, so I got a bunch of books on Photoshop since 7.0. From there I just went on forums and saw others' sigs. I just applied all I know into sig :p. My sig's just evolve from that one :D.

ahm what about making a screenshot with empty space there (i mean no sig or whatever) and than just cut out that part with something and make that the backround of the pic so there would be the same...i think O.o

You mean pretty much take the color of forum page, behind the sig, so that you can't tell it's not opaque? That'd work, nobody would really know the difference.

I wanna try to figure out this rendering process, I started looking up tutorials but got sidetrack by some artist site, hmm...

Meanlilkitty, to make the background transparent so you can use the sig on any forums of any color, you just have to do this (in Photoshop):

1. Open a new document, with a transparent background.
2. Draw whatever you like on it.
3. Hit CTRL + ALT + Shift (or click "Save for Web" under "File").
4. Save as PNG (PNG 24 if available).

Note: this will not work in IE 6 or lower and Netscape and all the other older browsers due to them not having the advanced graphical rendering option. IE 6 or lower will show that image with a white background. But the good thing is that IE 6 or lower and Netscape and all the older browsers are not supported anymore so almost no one still have on them on their computers.

I usually just delete the white in the background while making my sigs. That's how I get the rounded borders.

Make sure when you save as a PNG-file, the transparency box is checked. I know it sounds dumb, but sometimes it can happen ^^. If that still doesnt work, you can use this link:

I dunno...there's nothing I can find. :confused: When I preview it outside of photoshop it shows up transparent, but as soon as I upload it it's white. It probably is something little I'm missing, and I'll feel like a complete ditz when I figure it out. Ha.

It is working fine for me. Just "Save for Web" -> "PNG 24" + "transparency" checkbox. And it is working fine.

If you still can't get it, I PM'ed you the image.

It wouldn't have to do with me being on a mac would it? I even tried it from work on a different copy of PS, and it's the only possible thing I can think of. I know it's kinda quirky for some sites, but I don't know if it would effect that at all...
