AT Information:
Jason is a member of the increasingly growing group of riders who sport ATs that at first glance do not look like ATs at all. A user of the Roller Ball type ATs Jason feels that they fit his style perfectly. Passable both as casual shoes and fancier shoes, his roller ball ATs work regardless of what the new rider is sporting as his attire for the day. They're crafted out of dark material and lack any type of fancy designs or additions like many riders add to their ATs.
More importantly then that, however, they give him a sense of control that he enjoys. Because his ATs could pass perfectly as regular shoes many people are often startled when he begins to perform ATing moves. Making everything that much easier to manipulate, something that Jason finds to be quite enjoyable. His ATs let him show others only what he wishes to show them and nothing more - exactly like Jason wants it to be.

Overall Appearance:
Jason is your typical American who grew up in a tourist trap- tan, loving of money, and quite used to a night life. Being born in the city that never sleeps Jason was out late and up early every night. A fact that is evident when one looks at his eyes - his self created insomniac like lifestyle has left dark rings under his eyes that are only less noticeable because of his relatively dark tan. Sharp brown eyes that constantly draw in information and details are outlined by a darker ring that is decreasing in size due to his newly obtained sleeping aids. His face is clean and lacks any deformities besides the rings under his eyes, and his hair hangs down until the bangs just reach into his field of vision, obsidian colored tendrils that, when wet, reach fully into his vision to obstruct it to some degree. He keeps his face freshly shaves as his father has pounded into him that facial hair is unbecoming of a business man. He also sports a small earring in his left ear - an item that he often takes out when in a business or serious situation or he's expecting trouble.
Jason's body is in surprisingly good shape for someone who grew up in Vegas with parents who were in the Hotel and Casino businesses. Despite having just about anything that he wants he is in surprisingly good shape. All though not all that much more muscular then your average guy his body is well toned and light - he's exceptionally fast and agile. This impressive condition is due in no small part to the fact that during the past four years of his life he's been taking Free Running lessons. Running around in shorts with no shirt has left him with a pretty even tan all over as well as a well conditioned body to boot.
Jason's desire for freedom is constantly at odds with his desire to appear professional. Although he prefers shorts and a T-Shirt in the summer, when the air gets cooler his wardrobe becomes relatively static. For the most part his choice of clothes range from Formal to Casual Formal. His wardrobe is filled with suits and 'relaxed' suits - meaning casual dress pants, a white or black shirt, and a black suit jacket that's a little less professional looking then a true suit jacket. He has a pair of dress shoes, black sneakers, as well as a pair of boots. Even his ATs - roller ball in nature - appear to be black shoes that are caught somewhere between sneakers and dress shoes.
Jason does have some clothes other then his regular ones. Usually saved for when he goes out partying they're nothing fancy - usually plain T Shirts, jeans that are a tad on the loose fitting side, and some sweat pants. Generally speaking any of these articles of clothing are only seen being sported when Jason is seeking a good work out - usually in the form of Free Running but anything that he's expecting to sweat during will do.

Fears:
Jason's absolute biggest fear is becoming dependent on others for any prolonged period of time. He finds most other people to be stupid and incapable - the thought of being in a position where he has to rely on others is paralyzingly terrifying to the obsidian topped American. This fear is the direct cause of his enjoyment of controlling a situation enough to be able to dictate his own actions. And although he's only just moving away from his parents he's fully capable of living on his own - and has been for quite some time.
Goals:
Jason's goals are nothing all that amazing. It's his first time away from the nest so he wants to enjoy himself. However as he's a realistic person he fully understands that he needs to one day take over his family's business. So while Jason fully wants to experience the world of an AT rider and living on his own he's also fully aware that he should be getting an education - hence his decision to enroll in Kyoto University despite his parents never forcing him to.
Overall Personality:
Jason is a complicated young man. On the one hand he is generally very business like - often resulting in him being extremely blunt and preferring that people not beat around the bush about things. This has left him, to some degree at least, somewhat difficult to get along with and makes the test of him making friends that much more complicated. Not that he particularly minds - if people aren't willing to get to know him simply because he's blunt that's entirely their loss. After all, someone who would label him as not worth knowing for being honest isn't worth his time.
This preference for being to the point and blunt doesn't mean he's rude - too often anyway. For the most part Jason is a relatively polite young man unless given a reason to be impolite or rude. After all, both are exceedingly bad for business. However if Jason is given reason to be disrespectful or rude then he feels no obligation not to. Pretend to be nice simply because it was the socially acceptable thing to do or the person is an idiot with rich parents? F u c k that. Jason would rather give people exactly what they earned - and if what they've earned is a quick verbal ass beating so be it.
Of course the opposite is entirely true as well - he has no problem being perfectly polite to those he feels have earned or deserve his respect. For this reason Jason's initial reaction to most people - unless they prove themselves worthy of respect or disdain upon meeting at least - is a polite disinterest. He'll be more then willing to hold a conversation with anyone that hasn't proven themselves to be an idiot, however he rarely recalls anyone who hasn't proved themselves worth remembering. And don't expect your reputation to impress him unless it's from someone he already respects - he rarely believes something that he hasn't seen for himself. The only way he'll give rumors any credit is if it's from someone who he finds to be respectable themselves - and even then it's questionable if he'll believe them.
The last thing to know about Jason is he has a love for things being F L A S H Y - but only if they're still getting the job done. A side effect of living in Vegas for so long - he can't help but enjoy it. This is most evident when he's on his ATs - or rather is his goal for riding ATs. He enjoys the idea of manipulating an opponent and winning without relying on brute strength. Between that and Free Running Jason is more then capable of being as Flashy - and soon as efficient in terms of ATs - as he wants.

Overall History:
Jason Monroe was born into the city where anything and everything you ever dreamed of could happen - Las Vegas. The son of a couple who'd built a small fortune in the city of sin - from the ground up - in the Hotel and Casino business. That had been years before Jason had been born, though. By the time he was born the couple had already forsaken having a regular house. They simply lived within their Hotel Chains, using the Penthouse for themselves a good majority of the time - unless someone else wanted them. With three separate 5 star hotels in Vegas alone the couple was far from short on money - and that showed in Jason's raising. With such a successful family and being an only child he got anything that he wanted - usually right when he asked for it. About the only thing he didn't get at will was into the Casinos to actually gamble and drink - he was free to wander around on the floors but all the employees knew his face - and the rules that they weren't allowed to let him do anything illegal. A fact that greatly annoyed the youngest Monroe as he grew up.
By the age of 10 Jason had begun to grow bored with his lifestyle. Moving around constantly and never staying in one place for too long he felt that he lacked certain things that regular kids got. To go to a school, to have friends, to go to a regular movie premier with his parents. While living the sweet life had it's perks there were definitely some draw backs to constantly moving around all the time. It was about this time that Jason began to look into something that he could do - no matter where in Vegas he was. The options were extremely limited for the young boy. With his parents needing to run around to maintain their ever expanding business of Hotels and Casinos. It would take several more years of searching before he would find something he enjoyed and could practice anywhere in the city, though, and those several years had quite the impact on the young boy.
As he searched for a hobby he could do anywhere he began looking more actively around the city. He expanded the limits of the world he'd lived in and by the time he was 14 a change was beginning to get infected by the flashy city he lived in. The lights, the glamor, the rigged games at the Casinos, the illegal betting on things that were subtly stacked in favor of the house. Jason became acutely aware of how things worked in the city - flashy lights and a decent bit of showman ship to hide a system designed to let the "house" win as often as possible. Direct their attention to the right and then drop them with a left.
Of course he also saw this system go horribly wrong - making it perfectly clear that only an expert could successfully manipulate an opponent. Those who failed - those who were all flash and no efficiency - were left beaten, bloody, and broken. It was a gamble - distract your opponent and manipulate them well enough and succeed or fail and taste the bitterness of defeat. However for the young Monroe it was an absolute rush - having lived a sheltered life he'd never experienced anything like it before.
It was about a year later, when Jason turned fifteen that he discovered a sport called Parkour - an impressive way of running that made it easier to move throughout the streets. For two years Jason spent a great deal of his free time taking private Parkour lessons - with the money that he was being paid by Jason's parents he never even complained about having to travel all over the city to instruct Jason in the art of Parkour - though he would soon find himself out of a job. Shortly after Jason's seventeenth birthday he discovered an alternative to Parkour - a flashier alternative. The sport was called Free Running and while both Free Running and Parkour allowed for better movement, Parkour was more focused on efficient movement where as Free Running was more focused on flashy movements. After two years of focusing on the efficient movements of Parkour Jason switched over to the flashier Free Running. The switch was one of the best decisions he made in his life as far as he's concerned - even to this day he's glad that he made it - even if it did keep him up until all hours of the night, something that over time resulted in him becoming a mild insomniac.
It was when Jason turned nineteen that he got his first glimpse into the world of Air Treks. A flashy man somewhat older then himself had delivered the pizza one night, but something had stuck out about him in Jason's mind. So he'd grabbed a pair of binoculars and watched the man leave the building from the Penthouse balcony. The guy's flashy appearance carried over to his run and Jason was instantly addicted - however his parents objected. They had enough of a problem with their only child doing Free Running - ATs were absolutely out of the question. Jason was furious but held his tongue - his parents rarely denied him anything so he would respect their wishes for the time being.
That time only lasted for a short while, though, and ended just earlier this year. His parents had opened a new Hotel/Casino - one in Kyoto Japan. Breaking into another country with their growing chain was a huge deal to the family and they spent all of July enjoying and overseeing the finishing touches of the Casino - one that Jason was going to be placed in charge of. After twenty one years of watching his parents maintain a Hotel they'd decided to give their son a shot at the family business. He'd have no final say in anything, that was all left to a highly experienced consultant named Chad, but Jason would run ideas past Chad to see if Chad agreed with his decisions or not - a sort of test to see how much Jason had learned.
Upon arriving in Kyoto Jason was informed of his situation - one he didn't particularly mind. However both sides had conditions - his parents demanded that he learn some kind of self defense while he was there as well as go to a University. Jason demanded a pair of Roller Ball ATs. With both sides in agreement Jason's parents left shortly after the grand opening in July and Jason has already been accepted into Kyoto University for the upcoming Year. For the past two months he's been trying to find a Free Running instructor, a place to learn self defense, and getting used to the basics of his Roller Ball ATs.

Heh, Roman was getting into this little from the looks of things. Despite the fact that he knew he wasn't on Hotaru's level he wasn't backing down. Had he really gotten so far as to be able to challenge Hotaru already? Or did he have some kind of tricks up his sleeve for this type of situation? Or maybe he'd just gone completely insane since they'd last met? Hotaru wouldn't have been surprised if it was the last one. Roman had never really seemed all that stable in all honesty. A good guy once you got to know him, but never that stable upstairs. Of course that really didn't mean much - a lot of riders were a little unstable upstairs. It sort of came with the territory - running at break neck speeds dodging cars and jumping rooftops.
Yeah it definetly came with the territory of being a Storm Rider. Roman, however, was more unstable then most. Even by Storm Riding standards the guy was unstable. When Hotaru'd first met him he'd been in the middle of a lake. A lake that'd been in the middle of a public park actually. And it'd been in the middle of Winter no less. If that wasn't a sign that he was messed up in the head Hotaru didn't know what was. Since then they'd ended up running into each other quite a few times. Those had only reinforced Hotaru's belief that Roman was quite unstable in the head. Hell he'd used Sakanako's butt as a battering ram on Hotaru the one time too. Yeah, Roman was a little unstable.
So it didn't particularly surprise Hotaru that Roman got into the ring as quickly as he could. Or at least it seemed like it was as quickly as he could to Hotaru. He only spared time for a few quick practice punches. Probably to get used to the extra weight residing on his hands. Well at least he wasn't so overly eager that he forgot something like that. A punch being thrown with a fist that was heavier then usual wouldn't go as fast after all. If you weren't expecting that it'd mess up your timings and that was bad. Especially against someone like Hotaru who could easily toss out a counter. Not that Roman knew that, mind you, but that didn't change the fact that it was true.
Hotaru cracked his neck as he waited for Roman to get started. The guy was taking his time for some reason or another now. Muttering something under his breath, maybe some prayer to an ancient god or something. Whatever the case it was the last of Roman's preparations. Or something to the effect of the last of his preparations. In the blink of an eye Roman had cleared the space between them. Hmm, it was odd though, it was like he wasn't riding the same way he used to. He seemed a little slower then he'd seemed when they'd been looking for Sakanako. Was it Hotaru's imagination or was he trying out a different type of riding for some reason or another?
Who knew, Hotaru certainly didn't have the time to wonder about it. Hotaru's hands tightened ever so slight within his gloves. Whatever Roman had done he'd caused some kind of crazy wind with the move. He briefly wondered if it was some kind of interface but he doubted it. If that was the case he'd probably have used it as a direct attack and that didn't seem to be the case. Crimson coated eyes narrowed as he watched Roman carefully. His punch came out and it was actually a little faster then Hotaru had expected it to be. Tch, that meant that he couldn't just dodge the punch like he'd been intending to. Oh well, that wasn't all that surprising in all honesty. Last he'd checked Roman had been every bit as fast as him.
Of course Hotaru didn't need to dodge a punch these days. He shifted his weight ever so slightly, hardly even moving. His left fist came up and batted the attack away completely. It didn't take a whole lot of effort anymore either. As fast as Roman was his hand speed was nothing compared to Nessa or Ashura. It lacked the power that a lot of people had, too. It wasn't exactly that it was weak mind you, nothing of the sort. Hotaru was just used to dealing with heavy hitters - he'd developed a natural resistance to them. Or better said he'd just gotten used to them, and compared to some of the people he knew, Roman just didn't stack up.
It was nothing against the guy mind you, it just spoke highly of the people Hotaru dealt with. Ashura was a monster in every aspect - even if Hotaru was physically stronger. He'd still never managed to beat the guy. He'd taken downs, mind you, but that was about all he could do. So when Roman let a grin onto his face that seemed like it was shouting a challenge Hotaru was just fine with that. Shifting his weight again he let loose with his own punch, a heavy right straight. Not his best punch, or even his most damaging, but it was quite a heavy hitting blow. Of course from Hotaru every blow counted as a heavy blow so that didn't particularly mean all that much. Still his hooks were his greatest weapons, not his straight.
Not waiting to see if his punch landed or was a clean hit. There was no reason to either, he wanted to keep moving. Not to mention that the weird wind that Roman had created was still around. He hadn't noticed it at first but the second he'd gone to throw a punch it'd become clear. There'd been some resistance there that wasn't normally there. It was a bad sign as far as he was concerned. Until he'd figured out what the heck that wind was he'd keep moving after punching. It'd serve to tell if Roman had really gotten slower after all or if he was just imagining it. On top of that it was something that Hotaru didn't usually do in a fight. He was an infighter but today he was going to try out boxing.
It was exactly what Sonya had done to him when he'd fought with her. Of course the major difference was that Sonya had needed to do it to avoid getting destroyed. Hotaru's power was clearly well above anything that she could deal with head on after all. Not that a whole lot of people could deal with his power head on. Hell he doubted that Roman could deal with his full power head on for very long. It spoke nothing of a lack of Sonya's skills. After all - he'd barely managedmanaged to beat her when they'd fought. Hotaru was doing it as a way to practice his ability to fight while moving. Standing still was his biggest weakness when he was fighting. Made it easier to hit him.
And Hotaru had long since moved to a point where he couldn't afford to just take hits. He didn't exactly have the speed to keep dodging attacks either. Not unless they were relatively inexperienced anyway. He could make it a little harder to hit himself though. And he could still throw a pretty powerful punch while moving as well. Besides, he could block more easily if he was harder to hit to start with. Or at least that's what he imagined was the case - he'd only just started trying to out-box. Whether or not he was any good at it would only be revealed in time. Roman was a good first test, though, in all honesty. He was far from a bad rider but he wasn't up to Hotaru's level. Oh well - Hotaru'd apologize later if he needed to.
