These rules were set up to help keep order here in Sora Lounge, and were created with the idea that they will expand and change to match the growing needs of the forum.
One thing, you're all obligated to read over and comprehend ALL of the points made below. No one's holding your hand here anymore, and you're responsible for your actions from here on out. If for some reason or another you can't grasp a concept, PLEASE contact an administrator for clarification. Posting outside of these guidelines will earn you a warning, and in some instances will earn you a ban. If you're not sure if something is against the rules, PM an administrator before doing it.

Sora Lounge is an open forum, with users from all over the world, of all ages and races. To be accommodating, please be understanding to those who may not be able to speak/write proficiently in English. Asking for further explanation is not considered insulting or inappropriate, but insulting a member for a lack of English proficiency will not be tolerated.
This forum is open to all ages, as anyone with an internet connection and knowledge of the site and its address may access it as a guest. Because of this, we ask that any explicit material be talked about only in PMs, TPL or outside of the forum. You may contact other users via PMs in order to discuss matters considered explicit, but note that you do so at your own risk. It is generally agreed that because Air Gear is a story meant for young teens and older, "PG-13" material is as explicit as one may be. Sora Lounge users may be under the age of 13; therefore personal discretion is required, as certain actions may be perceived as harassment. If a user reports harassment (any unwanted PMs, or other contact), there will be consequences.

For starters, be nice to each other. With a lot of people together in/on a place, naturally not everyone will agree with you on something. Everyone has different opinions on various issues, let's all be respectful towards each other and our opinions.

I. Do not use too many signatures because they make the forum load slower as well as make it longer to scroll. If you have too many signatures we will tell you to remove them or an administrator will have to remove it personally.
II. Any type of pornography is prohibited in avatars and signatures. Anything sexually explicit but not pornographic must be placed under spoiler tags

No Flaming/Trolling
Flamewars contribute absolutely nothing to the forums. Don't get aggravated. Not only are you attempting to point out the faults you supposedly see in the other party, but you're also selling yourself off as an all-around idiot. Keep cool here people, it's just a forum and all you'll accomplish in the end for starting/continuing a flame-war is a shiny ban and some laughs from your peers.

Don't be a smart-arse hero
Don't act like a tough guy towards the rest of the forum members, moderators and administrators. Mutual respect is what counts!

Know who you are talking to. There are a lot of people on these boards that have been in the community a long time, Administrators, moderators and naturally the Co-founders. Advice from these members is not to be taken lightly. You, after all, asked the question and wanted information, not them.

Don't SCREAM
Don't go screaming for a solution. For example, the excessive use of caps. TEXT WRITTEN LIKE THIS is extremely annoying, and you will annoy the other users. If you SCREAM around like a moron trying to make yourself clear in a debate or conversation, others can choose to report you to the moderating staff. If you ever want to make yourself CLEAR then you just accentuate a particular piece of text. Stay true to the netiquette and keep your use of caps in check.

DON’T bring discriminatory beliefs to Sora Lounge.
Everyone has their own set of beliefs and prejudices, but they do not belong on Sora. Any instances of discrimination on an ethnic, sexual, religious, or other basis will earn a user either a warning or a ban, the severity of which will be up to the answering an administrator.

No advertisements to be posted without authorization from a forum administrator. If you do want to post an advertisement, please send personal message to the Site Administrator and you will be given a prompt response. Direct links to multimedia objects including, but not limited to: images and videos do not need authorization, such as Youtube or Photobucket, only if they do not contain text and links featuring another website, forums and etc. Thus links to web pages, including, but not limited to: PHP, HTM, HTML, ASP, CSS, JS which may amalgamate to including, but not limited to: discussion boards, forums, websites, and guestbooks do need proper authorization from the management. Sora Scans management reserves the right to edit or delete any links posted by any user if it acquires probable cause that the link breaches any of these rules or if it threatens the security and/or the operation of Sora Scans website and/or forums. If posting the link on the Sora Scans website or forum causes including, but not limited to: loss of hits, loss of information, a security breach, the breach of the rules of the website that is directed to by the link, loss of unique hits, breach of Sora Scan's rules, or the decrease of the Sora Scans monetary value, then it is prohibited to post that link.

Outside of the TPL, posting of images depicting genitalia and bare breasts is prohibited. Linking to websites with such content is also not allowed. Posting such material are grounds for a temporary to permanent ban, subject to the severity of the offence and discretion of the moderators.
Within the TPL, posting of material depicting explicit penetration, law-violating material including, but not limited to child pornography, bestiality, rape, violence will earn you a permanent ban.

No illegal activities
Links to websites that contain illegal games/movies, pornographic sites (with the exception of the TPL), sites with grotesque, violent and/or racist content are NOT to be posted.
For posting of these sites you will be banned, no questions asked.

Don’t Spam
Spam in any way, shape, or form is restricted from being posted in Sora Lounge. Starting up a topic that is blatantly spam will earn you a warning; multiple warnings will equal a ban. The same goes for people who post spam in the middle of a thread that was previously on-topic. Not only could this lead to the closing of the thread and the end of a meaningful conversation, but it also counts towards warnings and bans.

Use the forums' search function
Often you can avoid starting up a useless thread and have your question answered by looking for past threads that were centered around a similar topic. Also, Goggling is a great alternative for more generic questions.

Be Smart
Try and keep the discussion on-topic as much as possible. Remember to make your posts thoughtful and always try to invite good discussion, and have respect for other people's opinions. If we feel that you are deliberately looking to start trouble or to annoy people, don't expect either your thread or posts to last very long. If a thread gets out of hand, leave it be, and contact a moderator/admin.
Have some respect for another person's topic. If the topic means nothing to you, then stay out, but don't make "funny" remarks. If your remarks are enough of an annoyance/offensive to other members, appropriate action may be taken by moderators and administrators, in accordance with these rules.

DO wait for Air Gear Releases to be announced by the Admins only
Believe it or not, we're fans of Air Gear too! Thus, the administration and the moderating staff understand the wish for some people to announce the release of a particular chapter or episode. However, since it's highly likely that multiple fans will announce the same release simultaneously, it's mandated that only Admins update the Sora Lounge userbase with New Release news. Keep in mind, regular users can still post Air Gear raws for the manga without worry.

DO NOT reveal spoilers.
As a rule of thumb, spoilers are instances or events in a particular movie or series that people new to it will probably have little background on. If you are unsure about whether or not something is a spoiler, play it safe and place spoiler tags around it.

Shout box currently encourages numerous posts but unfortunately also encourages some dimwits to think that they can use it to abuse others.

Pay attention to what you are saying. Do not say anything that may offend someone. Content containing lesser swear words maybe acceptable provided the words are used sparingly and doesn't make the content go off-topic. Content containing swear words that are used in the context of a personal attack/insult may result in a ban.
Rule No. 2 - Personal Abuse
On occasion it may be felt that it just has to be published on Shout Box. Please avoid broad generalizations however. Threats of physical harm or details on what you are going to do to them are definitely banned from this site.
Rule No. 3 - Fantasy
Stay within the guidelines and try not to get carried away. Sora Lounge maintains an 'open to all' policy and does not wish to see sexist, ageist, racist, troll comments on the site. So, to sum up. Enjoy the Shout Box, be witty in the Shout Box, behave in the Shout Box - Let's KEEP the Shout Box.

If a permanent ban is placed on a user name, it is just that...permanent (In short it was nice knowing you). Unless there was a mistake made on the ban or strange circumstances, no bans will be lifted. The price paid for misconduct.
Admins and Global Moderators have the right to ban anyone without warning for any kind of misconduct that completely supersedes the standard warning system. Your actions will be judged both objectively and subjectively for content, implied meaning, intentions for posting, and/or any of the aforementioned rules.
Once your infractions accumulate to the weight of 4, you will be banned for 3 days.
Once your infractions accumulate to the weight of 7, you will be banned for 10 days.
Once your infractions accumulate to the weight of 10, you will be banned indefinitely.
Please take note that depending on the severity of the infraction, Admins may choose to exercise harsher penalties. REMEMBER, you are responsible for your own actions.
