GENERAL

Name: Nathan Wester
Gender: Male
Age: 18
School: Rayleigh School for Gifted Students (private)
Rayleigh is a small private school that takes students who have suffered from forms of paresis (paralysis) and are still affected by it.
School Clubs:
School Track Team (former)
Rayleigh Higher Carers (students with less intense disabilities who care for the more disabled)
Skill Stats:
Stamina: 10
Strength: 15
Defence: 12
Speed: 13
Total Skill Points: 40
Status: F-Class
A-T Information: Black shoe sections, bearing the logo of Rayleigh School. The wheels originally completely bright red, are still red in a ring around the middle of the outward sides, but everywhere else has worn down to a reddish-brown through overuse.

LOOKS

Eye Colour: Reddish-brown, the same as his A-T wheels.
Hair Colour: Black, with the tips dyed bright red.
Skin Tone: Lightly tanned on face, arms and legs are pale, from being constantly covered.
Height/Weight:178cm, 72kg
Blood Type: A
Overall Appearance:
A tall, lean individual, Nathan almost always stands with a perfectly straight back, even though the position of his legs, arms and head would suggest he is slouching. His arms usually hang by his sides, as they are partially paralysed and his brain still has trouble sending messages to them. As such, when he rides, his arms either sway with the breeze or momentum of his body, or are held rigid, following the last command given to them.
Nathan's face is almost always a stern, judgemental stare, accented by the creases around and under his eyes from years of looking after younger, disabled kids. His hair, short and generally unused to attention, is black, with bright red dyed tips which shift as he moves his head. Whenever Nathan interacts with someone, he will invariably glance around their entire body, checking the well-being or strength of everything he can see. This tends to annoy people as he rarely looks into their eyes.
Nathan has two major scars, one running down the inside of each arm. These are from operations to restore movement in his arms, which were mostly successful. The scars do not open easily, and appear more like bright red stripes than actual scar tissue. They begin in his armpits, where small electrical boosters were placed to increase the conductivity of the nerves in his shoulders. He usually wears dark clothes, mainly in brown and red, covering his arms completely using long-sleeved shirts and gloves. He will always wear long pants. In the cold, Nathan wears a bright red zip-up polar fleece.

PERSONALITY

Likes:
Drinks, especially with straws. Nathan has a tendency to drop food he his holding in his hands.
Girls with strong legs, especially if they are scar-free.
Showing off his leg strength, which he developed to compensate for his arms.
Dislikes:
Hand-held foods, such as pizza and burgers.
Electrical plants, magnets and other items that interfere with his shoulder implants.
Fat people, people who damage their bodies, by cutting, etc. Tattoos are okay, but still a little awkward.
People who claim those with disabilities are stupid. This is a pet hate, as none of the students at Rayleigh have mental deficiencies, but are all subject to stereotyping.
Hobbies:
Watching out for the younger students at Rayleigh, especially encouraging them to run and be active despite their disabilities.
Working on his leg strength, either by running everywhere or just working out.
Fears:
Full-body paralysis, losing limbs.
Goals:
To master absolute control over his body, and thus ignore things like paralysis that hold him back.
To craft his dream, once achieved, into a "road" for all the students of Rayleigh to run.
Overall Personality:
Nathan is an introverted character as a direct result of his dreams, not the way he was born. When he is around the students of Rayleigh, Nathan is an outgoing, dreamy, upbeat character. Since being a small child he has been like this, always hoping to bring up the spirits of the disadvantaged people around him. Since taking up his dream to master control over his body, Nathan is constantly aware of everything that he can feel, and every movement he is making.
This introversion adds to his natural protectiveness, and he will apply his habit of constantly checking his body to the people around him. In a place like Rayleigh, this is to see if any of the students are having difficulty with their disabilities or if they've injured themselves. The very pinnacle of this sentiment is his goal, once he has achieved mastery over his body, to create a road so that all of the students of Rayleigh can run with him.
On the rare occasion that Nathan actually pays attention to something long enough to show emotion, it is usually anger. This can be triggered either because someone is threatening a student or someone Nathan is protecting, or they are making stereotypical comments about disabled people. It does normally take a moment longer for Nathan to fly into a rage than most people, as he is always consciously aware of what is happening to his body.

HISTORY

Birthplace: Tokyo, in a home birth.
Birth date: 14-Nov-1990
Birth time: 5:42am
Parents:
Oliver Wester, 44, a cancer doctor who was unable to help Nathan with his disability, causing his wife to divorce him.
Gabriella Wester, 37, a washed-up actress. Separated from Oliver.
Siblings: None, parents disheartened by disabled child.
Overall History:
Born with little to no movement in his arms, Nathan was shuffled between hospitals until a private firm managed to implant a small electrical booster in each armpit, increasing the conductivity of the nerves in his shoulders and restoring a large degree of movement.
Nathan's father, though being a qualified (read: not genius) doctor, was unable to help Nathan himself, mostly because his speciality lay with cancer patients. Nevertheless, Nathan's 19-year-old washed-up-actress mother divorced him and left Nathan's father to care for his son on his own. He managed to con Nathan's way into Rayleigh School for Gifted Students, a school for children suffering from paresis (paralysis), despite Nathan having movement in his "paralysed" arms.
Nathan grew up as one of the "Higher Carers", less disabled children who cared for the 'properly' crippled ones. These were the children who first dyed the tips of his hair red, forming a habit that Nathan would keep to remind him of Rayleigh and the people he was running for. He trained his legs to compensate for his arms, eventually joining the track team. Through the team, he heard about members who had taken up A-T and, through hard work and persistence, had managed to restore movement in their paralysed limbs. On that day, he quit the team, swearing to use A-Ts to master every facet of his body and to craft a road that would allow all the disadvantaged children of Rayleigh to climb out into the "sky".

EXTRA

Extra:
Roleplay Sample:
Nathan gazed up into the tiny patch of sky above him. The little blue patch, ringed by freshly-rained clouds, framed by the tops of Tokyo buildings, reminded him of his purpose. He was the "sun", the student who had left Rayleigh, pushing the clouds apart in search of a place where all of his children could fly; the A-T world were his "clouds", slowly parting to reveal more and more beautiful "sky" for him to explore. Finally, his physical body was the "buildings", setting limits on where, and how far, he could fly, but not - as he dreamed - how high.
The wheels of Nathan's A-T sunk slightly into the fresh, damp soil of the playground. He could feel the slight tension in his legs as they prepared to push slightly harder to launch from the sodden, unstable footing. Awkwardly, he ran his hand across his face, wiping away the slightest bit of moisture from both the surrounding air and his mounting excitement. He glanced down at the end of his sleeve. The lack of a red stain comforted him - it meant his dye hadn't run whilst he had been practicing in the rain. He let his hand drop, focusing once more on the preparedness of his body. The cold air was refreshing in his lungs, and Nathan thought it would add at least fifteen minutes to his maximum run if the conditions stayed as still as they were.
He glanced across at his opponent. The tall, overhanging wall was an obstacle Nathan had never managed to climb, and the red-brown wheel marks covering the bottom half and dividing the top were a testament to that. This wall represented an important milestone for Nathan; climbing up the overhang required speed and the ability to overcome gravity and the burdens of his weight. It hadn't seemed so impossible at first, at least not nearly as impossible as some of his previous achievements, as he had steadily increased the height of his climbs with each try. Finally, though, he had "hit a wall", reaching the high point where only a few very lucky, or very painful wheel marks noted his presence. The very nature of the overhang shielded it from the slick effects of the rain, but nonetheless, the effects were there. He could see some of his earlier marks finally fading into nothingness against the damp air, and the cold droplets forming where a particularly bad run had carved a scar into the wall.
He closed his eyes, focusing on the advantage given to him by the cold, life-giving air he was breathing that over-weighed the drawback of the cold, increasingly slick wall. Nathan tensed his arms, bringing them up to where they would best serve his balance, and letting them sit there. He narrowed his mind's eye, thinking only of his legs, his torso, and the specific parts he would need his body to push for the climb. Finally, he took position, spread the energy and tingling sensation of the cold, inhaled breath to his muscles, opened his eyes and ran.

E-Rank Trick: Hawk Eye
Hawk Eye
Rank: E
Requirement: Defense: 50
Type: Special
Target: Self
In RP description: Hawk eye. The skill which lets a rider see with clarity the trick pass from one place to another. By seeing the potential jumps spots, the required tricks and the route they need to take to get from point A to B as fast as possible the hawk eye is a very useful trick when racing in unknown territory. Since riders using this trick know exactly where they are going they can go forward with certainty and without hesitation and therefore the lack of wasted movements and the lack of hesitation give the illusion of an increase in speed.
Ruling: Increase your speed and defense by 25 at the end of your next cycle. This increase in stats lasts until the end of the battle. Until the end of the battle if you are having a battle at another team’s territory and there are obstacles then you are affected as though you were on their team and not in the challenging team. This trick can only be used once per battle. If this is not a dash or a hurdle battle you cannot perform any actions during your next cycle.
