Yup, Just wanted to know what people here think are mangas with the best artwork/style. It doesnt have to have a story you like, the story doesnt have to be good - but the art should be jaw dropping, impressively detailed or around that mark.
I said top 5 but I already here know TenTen and Air Gear would be in those top 5 hence Im gonna say besides them - since I doubt anyone here needs to be introduced to them. Or is there some just blow OGs art away you dont think they could be in your top 5.
If so, please share! Top 5, Top 10 as long as the art is freaking amazing!!! ^^

the only one i can think about is fate/stay night and black cat... and black cat?
black cat's manga version and the anime version got a diffrent style, if we're all AG arts lover we proably prever the manga version
then there's slam dunk... and death note... if you like AG arts then those two would proably listed as good as well
Tower of druaga wasn't all that bad either (tough the most appealing thing for both seasons would be the opening XD)
if you really want to know, go to hentai sites and look for the series with most doujins (except for naruto, onepiece, and bleach)
and yes, i'm talking about anime TTOD, not the arcade game. i don't know its existence until march either XD
oh wait, it supposed to be about manga, sorry

I'd prefer to go with top 5 artists/styles. Excluding Ogure I'd have to go with these guys. They're not in order of preference, I like them all for different reasons.
Tsutomu Nihei, creator of Abara, Biomega, BLAME, and NOiSE. I love the gritty visceral style and the dystopian settings are breathtaking and perfectly suited to his stories.
Hirano Kouta, creator of Hellsing and Drifters. This style is also great for its thick and dark style which works great with his gory storylines.
Shiono Etorouji, creator of Ubel Blatt. Great stylistic mix of realism and traditional anime style, good action sequences and amazing settings.
Obata Takeshi, and his partner Ohba Tsugumi, the artist and author, respectively of DeathNote and Bakuman. I just think Takeshi's style is incredible. The combination of talent results in amazing atmosphere and metaphorical work and the character expressions and clothing are flawless.
Yusuke Murata, artist of Eyeshield 21. Great mixing of style to create unique characters, though I particularly like the sharper, rougher style which is perfectly suited to this sports manga.

Tsutomu Nihei, his work with titles such as Blame! or Biomega is really nice. He started a new series recently, didn't he? Some mecha manga, I believe.
Hirohiko Araki, for fucking badassery only. His art in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is 100% condensed manliness.
Shirow Miwa. DOGS: Bullets and Carnage has pretty nice art and awesome perspectives in the gunfights
Shouji Sato, OG level ecchi artist. Can also do some pretty nice scenery and action. Illustrator of High School of the Dead.
Sakurako Gokurakuin. Sekirei is damn sweet.
Yasuhiro Kanou does a pretty good work with Mx0, really solid and goodlooking all through the manga.
Takeshi Obata, illustrator of Hikaru no Go, Death Note and Bakuman. FAAABULOUS.

Well Tenjou Tenge and Air Gear are givens for great art work.
Unbalance x Unbalance by Lee Soo Hyun, the detail on characters is great
Freezing by Kim Kwang Hyun the detail is also good but the way he draws the fights and certain scenes are amazing
Change 123 by Iwasara Shiuri another visually pleasing manga with great detail
History's Greatest Disciple Kenichi by Matsuena Syun, the artwork has gotten much better lately.
Tsutomu Nihei from Biomega, a very interesting style
Hirano Kouta from Hellsing the gritty style is great
Claymore by Yagi Norihiro, the style is just archaic in a great way
Get Backers by Ayamine Rando, the detail is distant yet remarkably visual, amazing
Dance in the Vampire Bund by Tamaki Nozomu, the style of this can get very dark, the mangaka does it well.

Ogure Ito (My artstyle is based off of his)
Obata Sensei (he along with O!G are my idles)
Araki (Jojo)
Akira Amano (reborn idk i just like it)

Could you guys post some examples? I could go through the mangas, but im pretty sure you guys would have a better idea for a page that really says "this artist is fucking awesome."
But i agree with the artists of Bakuman, ES21 (although it takes some time), and of course Air gear.

Thats actually a good idea...something like one double-page, or epic/badass art moment from each manga/artist would be pretty informative.

Hmmm...
1) Noizi Ito : She made quite a few well known works such as Shakugan no Shana and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. The ones which probably did catch many readers' attention would be the cute female characters which she drew in her manga.
2) Obata Takeshi : I would agree with Xemmas about this guy. The very first manga which he had made which caught my attention would be the Death Note. Details were rather remarkable. His other works after Death Note like Blue Dragon: RalGrad and Bakuman never ceases to impress me.
3) Katsura Hoshino: Drew D'Gray Man...
4) Oh! Great: Drew Tenjou Tenge and Air Gear. As usual, I have no comments about his works because his work is something which I could hardly describe (in compliment sense)... maybe I should say despite of the constant ecchi elements in probably all of his manga... it's neat, well drawn and details are everywhere in the scene especially the mechs. Probably the one of best mangaka ever... ^^
5) Masamune Shirow : He drew Ghost in The Shell, Appleseed and Vexille. Other than the beautifully drawn characters in all of his manga... the details drawn for the machine showing its mechanics and dynamics is way to hard for me to ignore. Probably inspired some of the current engineers to create something as close as it is.

I didn't know Ito drew manga. I just thought she did the illustrations to Light Novels like SnS and SHnY (book 10 fucking when?), and some VNs like Flyable Heart. A very good choice, nonetheless. I have quite a bit of her art (especially in my huge ass Haruhi folder) on my HDD. The way she draws faces is just HNNNNNNGHHH. I actually prefer Ito's Haruhi and Shana art over the official anime art.
To be honest, I'd take Ito over OG and Yabuki (the To love-ru guy) when it comes to drawing girls.

In no particular order;
1. Oh! Great, as always. Nobody does lineart and details like he does.
2. Naked Ape. Pretty stuff; very distinct. The black and white -really- stands out.
3. Takeshi Obata; Death Note fame. He's famous for the fashion of his characters as well; not just his actual drawings alone.
4. Yuki Kaori. Have you seen her artbooks as well? She's got this tragic beauty in the way she draws and the way she does her plots.
5. Probably Taguchi Masayuki, who drew Battle Royale. I liked his grosteque way of drawing everything and hiding nothing. Then again, the genre of the manga was meant to be explicit anyway. I'm a fan of clean line-art anyway, so hmm~

Fuck yeah dude, internet high five! Pokemon Special is awesome. Better than 70% of all the shitty shounen ninja clan and pantsu harem shit out there that somehow manage to be popular.
Yellow, oh yes baby. Do want. Reverse trap blond loli, mmm.

I also like how the manga is way better in pretty much every aspect than any other rendition of Pokemon.

Yeah, Special actually has likable, competent main characters and a coherent plot. Red is basically an improved Ash in every aspect. And real Pokemon violence, too. And the art looks pretty good in the FRLG arc. Too bad it's not scanlated (or is it?), I'm quite looking foward to it. They stopped at GSC arc, if I recall correct.
And I see you're a Katawa Shoujo fan. Am I right?
Now, for staying on topic. I think Blade of the Immortal and Vagabond have pretty nice art. And Gantz too, I guess.

They've scanlated 90% of the chapters (skipped a few here and there)
The problem is... The pages aren't in order.
I noticed this at around chapter 130 and I was like, screw this I can't go on reading like this. So right now, I'm just waiting for the actual publications to come out.
No, just needed an avatar, and this was most suitable one on hand.
