Well Id say Benkie had the most AT skills out of all the girls so far. Kururu hands down has the most skill when it comes to Tuning though.

Quick Comparison system on the Air Gear women/girls


P = Personality : You can add a short description about your perception of them them or just your Score based on your preference. Do you like it or not? High maintenance or low? Tsundere or bookworm, sweet and gentle etc.

When she does it to somebody who is actually looking then I'll accept that. Attacking when they aren't paying attention is nothing, Simca could probably do that. Lets face it Emily has done nothing to any king in a true fight. Kiric wasn't even trying to fight her so her attack was meaningless. Matter of fact if Ikki hadn't of shown up she would've failed.

Does anyone else think that simca is not that attractive in comparison to the other AG girls?

I mean, yea she's got a body, but she's not all that cute. Every other girl has some kind of endearing quality to them, personality wise. I feel like simca is just...there.

With Kiric, the guy is pretty much omnipotent, a genius, and can crush buildings with a single kick.

I think if simca saw ikki completely outclassed against an opponent eons above her level, she would just sit there and cry, hoping for ikki to save her. Kururu would do a little better, but she still would just end up hoping. Emily jumped in to help the guy she cared about, fully knowing that he could easily just turn around and kill her.

The fact that emily gets up and goes for it even though she knows how above her level the opponent is makes her awesome to me. Its not the actual effect that matters IMO.

Oh shit that would be a tough match. Hmm, i'd have to say it would probably be a draw. Mikan would be better overall, but emily just would not quit.

But i was slightly intrigued by early simca. But now that all her cards are out on the table, and she doesnt have much influence as far as the plot goes...shes just boring. Hopefully she will do something, whether it be direct or subtle, to shake things up a bit. I like simca the conniving manipulator, not simca the damsel in distress.

I get what you're saying I give her high marks for having guts. It's makes it more impressive that she did do something. But if it's completely ineffective it's pointless. With Kazu she might have gotten Gabishi to let him go but he still didn't suffer any damage and still came after them. With Kiric she actually failed, if Ikki hadn't of shown up she would've never reached the balloon. But we can disagree on this.
But she is a lot more effective than Simca, you're right that bitch would've sat there hoping for the best.

Yeah, me too, that's why I said they're entertaining. I was just trying to be objective.

And "Moe" [pronounced Moh-eh] is an ill-defined otaku term that means, amongst others, "cute", "huggable", "endearing". While it's sometimes used to describe a series, it's more about a specific kind of character.

Moeblob = A character who is moe to the point of lacking almost any other definable traits, physically or character-wise. Cuteness taken to an unappealing level.

I actually like Konomi (hope I spelt that right) over Kururu now XD Kururu is a character I've felt obliged to like since she is sweet and it was awkward for her butting in on Ringo's place but now I've put her in the RingoSimcraKururu troupe I don't think about her too much and out of those three I like Ringo the best since she knows how to play video games properly =P oh and she has Kanon as well. Back to Konomi she's in TTT also strong willed and amusing, plus she wasn't attracted to Ikki which made a change.

Om, cool ATs and unque shape to her and despite her evil entrance I like her personality.

I want to know more about Nike last two crazy sidekicks and the girl that keeps going 'pyon' (whom I presume is hanging round with Sora and Aeon atm) she actually see,s rather nice.

Despite the absense of Emily its good to have some Yayoi development these last few arcs, those two girls are really coming into their own now, I like the way they naturally came into the story despite only appearing because the Yaoi was bullying them- wonder who they hung out with before?

Benkei is still awesome but I feel so sorry for her now, wonder how Om will react. Her story sort of reminds me of Ine and Spitfires, since even if she wasn't romatically involved with Yoshi they were extremely close.

OMG what is Rika doing? She should have figured something out by now, she's just disappeared, when was the last time she showed up for real?

and even though she is dead Gorgon should have a mention for loving Aeon, thats dedication. I'm guessing she had feelings for him.

I found this surprisingly similar to the case of cough*Origini*cough. :)
However, unlike Origini who is a chicken, a pervert, and alway plot-win through the situation, O!G give her gut, beauty and she barely made it through with a little help from friends. That is just nicer, much more beautiful and is widely accepted by all. Proven that O!G ,to some extend, know how to write and Origini should just die. (replaced by different member would do)

People like emily because she's got guts ha, and the fact that her first big appearance she drop kicked a king into opposing traffic doesnt hurt either. Then she continued to fight against opponents who HORRIBLY outclassed her and she still made a difference. The fact that she's madly in love with someone who is kind of a pansy 75% of the time is also pretty amusing.

I like kururu, but i feel like sometimes OG is trying to hard to make her likeable/cute, almost to the point where she comes off as shallow as a character, IMO.

But she does have an awesome avatar. What is that anyways, a piano goddess?

And i think Yayoi's tuning was a bit overstated in the beginning, since i think Akito did most of the "grunt" work. Although this makes sense given how easily/quickly she tuned him.

I always thought Kilik and Simca to be younger than Sora by at least one or two years. My reasoning is that, it has been stated countless times that Kilik was the only perfect Gravity Child, and the the Sleeping Forest with the exceptions of Ine and Kilik were all Gravity Children who were slated to be destroyed. Taking into account that the fact that those who would have been created after Kilik would be perfect, it does look like Sora and the others were definitely a year or more older than Kilik and Simca.

Emily, she would have been slaughtered in both cases to be honest if not for timely help in both. Her, I'd classify more as beginner's luck more than anything else - she has a long way to go. Potential is huge though; hopefully she'll pick up a few things in America, the land of Extreme Pro Sports.

Only Kururu, at least in the series, does the reader see wielding real power - the scenes of TTT swearing fealty and her ordering Hako come to mind.

If she was a bit more like Makigai and actually took up AT - man, the possiilities to be exploited with sound could kill. Oh well, the drawbacks of neutrality; and therefore pacifism.
And yes, I think the lack of actual riders in TTT is a deliberate policy decision, given that Kanon rides and tunes quite well.
Or is it that nobody could tune the ultimate tuner? Then whence Makigai herself?

Kururu has that girl next door thing going on. She's the type of girl you want to have a long relationship with. But she probably wouldn't be all that great in the sack. Ringo has the girl next door mixed with bad girl vibe. You could have a long relationship with somebody like her, and she'd most likely throw it down in the bedroom. When I read manga or any story I like to get a feel for a character and usually O!G characters seem interesting and not too perfect (despite some moments that let plot devices glaringly go over logic which is part of the manga's charm and makes it so interesting) which is why Emily and Yayoi are more likeable as characters. (this is going off cute admittedly since it more about the characters personalities in general.)

I'm aware Kururu has a big fanbase (probably why I don't like her as much =/) and her loliness makes her different from the other characters but she seems to be created to fit a purpose and a role that she's not quite a character as you said trying to appeal with Otaku and probably suceeding. The team has 5 members and all are kid. There are two kings and they were both in the hospital. Other three, one have 5 second pervy-boost, one with great pump up arms, and one can ... simple run really fast. Plus, they just lost an C class battle. She, being the current head of Genesis, looking down on them just make perfect sense.

Still her intentions are good and she does care but if she's dumb enough to keep going back to the sora brothers what happens to her there is her own fault.

Some one can run be comfortable with their body and have very revelaing outfits, eg Benkei, but their personality and way of doing thingsdoesn't make them a slut or slutty.

Well, you know what a pussy Kazu is. He's really sensitive, and has taken crap from Ikki practically all his life, and still considers him his best friend. That has given him a really low self-esteem. Then this busty babe comes and constantly rides Ikki's nuts about how great he is. And then she says Kazu is practically worthless. Must have been a pretty hard hit on him. She could have been a littler gentler on him. That's douchebaggery, right there.

And about why Kazu is popular. Well, people tend to like the underdog, right? Ikki has never been this manga's underdog. He's always basking in the sunlight, getting new roads, reggies, fangirls and whatnot. Kazu has many challenges he has to defeat before getting at the top, while Ikki got there around chapter 3. Hell, Ikki in chapter 5 had already gotten more praise than Kazu has in the whole manga's duration.

And I'll admit that a part of my dislike for Ikki stems from the fact that I can see Nagi in everything Ikki does. And god knows do I hate that asshole. And Kazu is basically a toned down expy of Masataka, who is by far the best Tenjou Tenge protagonist. A talented guy, who's still the butt of every joke despite being incredibly loyal and always tries his best. Kazu is a nobody, Masataka... well, all those masturbation jokes and...yeah.

Cool i see what your saying..but when you said her words were harsh...yes they were ESPECIALLY because he's 15 years old, their ages account for their flaws a few months back i posted all the psychological factors in Ikki's life that make him the way he is

Thankfully she's just a character a sorta plot device character really, she complicated Ikki's love live so now we can debate that until O!G destined a more fitting character, then she was useful in getting Ikki mad at SF, always good for fanservice, she was useful on showing just how creepy Nike was becfore he went on a killing spree (as if killing spitfire wasn't bad enough) and she got Ikki involved in the mess he is in now and argueable was a good device in forcing out Ikki wind abiltiesby making him go against her old boyfriend and she was a means to update the reader on what was going on outside Kogarasumaru. Now other characters have got involved they've taken over what she did and we will now be surprised when she pops up again with some more drama in toe probably.

Does it surprise anyone that the only teams with a decent number of females on them are Sleeping Forest and Tool Toul To?

On most other teams, there's the token female, and that's about it. It's a Shonen title, so gender bias is expected to an extent; but those are 2 of the most influential teams out there.

On the other hand, TTT is neutral and pacifist, and SF is nerfed with 'fake Regalia'. It's a pity TTT isn't more aggressive - I'd really like to see more tuners like Kanon (who's a male, surprise) out there holding their own.

I'm wondering if SF would form a quick-and-dirty alliance with Kogarasumaru when (if?) they're defeated. It makes sense with the 'gathering of the 8 roads' bit, and I think SF won't be in a position to do anything else once they're down and out anyway. Besides, Ringo should serve as Akito's replacement once Lind pops up and plays the Judas trick on them.

I think Genesis has at least as much females as Sleeping Forest. They have those nurses and that other peppy girl that showed up with Orca. I dont know how many members there are of Genesis but theres a good chance there's more.

Those are the three main teams and so they've had more screentime than the other teams and have a higher chance of seeing female riders.

TTT seems to have a definitively higher ration of females to males than any other team though.
