RPC Name: Kami Kage
Gender: Male
Age: 16
School: Katsura High
Clubs: Kami can occasionally be seen at the chess or debate clubs, sometimes even with the student authoring group, though he is typically reclusive outside of the classroom.
Stats:
Stamina: 10
Strength: 5
Defense: 11
Speed: 14

Total Skill Points: 40SP

Status: F Class (E-class now. Post #4 for details)
A-T Information: Kami’s A-Ts have a somewhat inconspicuous appearance, being black with a violet gear pattern adorning the wheels, the only decoration which Kami saw fit to place. The performance, however, is quite distinct with his carefully adjusted setup, lending him a greater acceleration and maneuverability than most, though it reduces his skates’ durability. While this reduces his ability to use methods high in physical intensity, it suits the intended purpose completely. His older sister Kiana purchased the skate parts for him under the impression that she was helping him create a complex gadget for a project, having been duped into thinking that Kami had no idea what a “Storm Rider” was.
Ever since his fight with Kiana, he has possessed the Air Treks which she abandoned alongside him. These have been incorporated into his new skates. The new skates are still black, but have a more streamlined shape. Also, a new design idea for his skates which he decided on is the finalized wind tunnel between the skates and the wheels, which is mostly there for cosmetic effect. He isn't entirely certain at this point as to why he made it. Plus, along with the new pattern on his wheels, which happen to be shadow creatures like dragons and spirits, he has installed Kiana's nifty, "silent motors". This permits him to generate no motor sound with his skating, which has taken a turn for the lighter influence.

Overall Appearance

If a normal person were to glance at Kami, that person would see a slim, angular, and sharply dressed person, albeit one rather unfriendly individual. Due to his natural preference for black and a natural dislike for all “normal” colors, Kami’s wardrobe is almost entirely black or white shirts, with a series or black cloth coats of varying lengths. He wears black jeans or pressed black suit pants with conscientiously polished black tennis shoes. However, he has taken to wearing black T-shirts that fit tightly on his thin but toned frame, and has almost abandoned wearing the dress pants except for formal occasions. One would almost certainly notice a habit of sighing, which comes from a vehement impatience with those who do not immediately grasp his topic and meaning. Despite his obvious revulsion for being dirty, he quite frequently finds himself in a fight, which he typically wins with well placed strikes and a constant pace. With shoulder length straight and smooth hair, and his bangs brushed to the sides of his face, Kami typically remains untouched as he leaves the site of the combat. His most intimidating feature, however, is not a wardrobe choice. His gray eyes are simply blank, boring into people as if they can read the soul itself… And they do not care about the fact at all.

Overall Personality
Kami is a creature of perfection, though he is not perfect. He struggles for perfection in anything he attempts, though this frequently alienates others. He has no friends, as he never learned how to socialize as well as not knowing anyone whom he has patience for. Still, he considers it a mission to find a human somewhat like himself, and attends a few clubs both to show up the inferior in addition to searching for a mental equal. This is inspired by his acknowledging the advantages of intellectual discussion, and his own extremely short fuse. Despite this fuse though, when he finds the correct motivation for any given task or activity, Kami is imbued with an infinite level of patience. However, he has yet to have found a core which allows him to tolerate the existence of his frustrating brother, who has developed an "unreasonable" loyalty to others.
Despite his peculiar appearance and personality, he is not widely known across the Katsura High campus, excepting among the teachers whom feel somewhat threatened by the presence of something they consider a potential sociopath. This feeling among the teachers logically comes from his tendencies to be a skillful combatant taking pleasure in harming, as well as his total detachment from all other “real” emotions. Their real fear, though, emanates from not the signs of sociopathos, but the acknowledgment of his potential abilities. Kami is a lover of thinking, fusing intellect with violence, and always winning the fight. His current drive is to duplicate this status in the Air Trek world.
His common intention is to conceal any emotion he feels, which is quite simple, as he rarely experiences any “real” emotions. It is rather uncommon for one to see him smile, even more so unintentionally. Even his adrenaline system is psychologically suppressed, which is a result of remaining so calm. He rarely feels endangered, thanks to his combative prowess, but he will have to work hard to achieve this state in the Air Trek world.

History
Birthplace: Kyoto
Birth date: February 22nd, 1993
Birth Time: 10:00 p.m.
Parents: Raito Kage, Eliza (Pontmercy) Kage
Sibling: Kiana Kage, Ichigo Kage
Overall History
Raito Kage was an unsuccessful retailer whose business was Air Treks. Eliza Pontmercy was an adventurous young European girl visiting Kyoto. In the usual coincidences, the two met, and fell in love together. When Eliza’s family returned to Europe, Eliza did not go with them. She was already the happily married Eliza Kage, soon to be mother of Kiana, the first of two children.
Raito introduced Eliza to the wonders of Air Treks, and she seized on to them quickly and happily. Together they road the sky for ages, content to leap and fly, to feel the wind helping them along. At least, until Eliza became pregnant with Kiana, the first child. Then Raito stayed on the ground as well, staying to keep his wife company.
After this, ten years passed which we have no interest in reviewing. Let it simply say that the small family was happy and revolved around Air Treks. The next occurrence was the birth of the little Kami, our subject in this tale. Around the same time, the neighborhood in the portion of Kyoto which the Kages resided in acquired a new resident. A rough Storm Rider gang which embodied the less appealing aspects of Storm Riders. Rather than retreat, the Kage couple elected to transfer into the arena of Storm Riding, and oust these bandits. Forming a team named Shadow’s Bane, Raito, its head, issued the challenge, and the gang was abolished.
Two years later, the third child, little Ichigo was born, and we don't need to bother with him except to say that Kami beats him in anything. Six more years passed as the young Kami grew, kept unaware of Air Treks by parents who wished for him to discover Air Treks on his own, as Kiana had. The team Shadow’s Bane grew as well, reaching C-rank through the defense of the neighborhood. Then, as had to happen, tragedy struck the little happy family in Kyoto. An additional Storm Rider team came to the territory, called the Skull Saders, which challenged Shadow’s Bane. The idealist team accepted, intending to abolish the hardest gang yet. End game; the entire Shadow’s Bane team was killed by the vicious Skull Saders.
Throughout the next eight years, Kami and his little brother were raised by their traumatized sister Kiana to form no attachments, to trust nobody, and to never drop their guard. Constantly pressured, the little child prodigy under went an unfathomable change of personality, so much so that his parents would not have recognized him physically or personally had they been alive. The new, sixteen year old Kami is a blunt yet refined and arrogant boy, obsessed with perfection and reluctant to socialize, as well as brutally sadistic when it comes to Ichigo. The little Kami was carefree, friendly, and humble. Even his mannerisms and tones of voice have shifted completely. The question remains; can a person of one personality truly change completely, not even possessing a single characteristic of the former personality?
Kami has since taken to Storm Riding, and has experienced several new things. Slowly, he is coming back into touch with his emotions as he delves further into the world of Air Treks. In a battle with his sister Kiana, he discovered just what his past hides. Now that he has found out his full past, Kami has devoted himself even further into Air Treks. Another effect of his battle with his sister is his eviction from his home upon release from the hospital where he recovered from his injuries. He now resides as a cultured resident of Nijo Castle.

RP Sample (This is my first, so please be nice=) )
As Kami tightened the final screw, a thin smile spread across his face. He rose and strapped on the Air Treks, ready after a month of careful research and construction for this test. These Air Treks would allow him to soar through the sky and hone a purpose for himself. He got to his feet, aware of the surroundings, those of a tower rooftop, a fifty meter square, totaling twenty five hundred square meters of space, albeit without safety rails. The drop if he fell would be a four story free fall, but this was the largest private training ground he was likely to find. And even if he fell, these Air Treks and his body’s intellect and adrenaline would keep him alive at a seventy two percent chance of successful survival.
Unlocking his power system, Kami applied pressure to the wheels, careful to maintain balance. Kami accelerated rapidly, easily surpassing the speed he had expected at about twenty kilometers per hour. This was not good, so he pressed down for a power slide, realizing too late that he would accelerate faster now. The edge rapidly approaching, Kami estimated a speed of thirty five kilometers per hour, with ten meters between the edge and his current point. A single second would have him over it, so a power slide is unavailable. Best chance of survival would be a controlled crash with an additional three percent chance of survival. Kami chose the jump solution, flying into the air at forty kilometers per hour.
As Kami flew, the world slowed down, an effect of adrenaline coursing through his system, he knew. Then he looked down, and gasped in spite of himself, because he couldn’t recall any hallucinogenic hormones that resulted from adrenaline release. He was only four stories up, yet the world below him was obscured by a thick spread of clouds. Rising from beneath the clouds were a forest of pillars in the old Roman style. Most were mounted by a malignant spirit of some kind, yet the tallest one, rising from the center, was unoccupied. A harsh and booming voice emanated from it.
“Beware, little seed,” It commanded “Of the dangers of the forest. We are the very powers of the world, from its kind waves to its raging tempests, and we have decided to allow you a reprieve from death. When you seek to grow, recall this power and forget not this warning of the Kings.”
With that, the scene dissolved, and Kami recalled that he should be falling. He stared around himself, and realized that he was standing on the ground. Considering this, Kami elected to believe that the vision had been somewhat based in reality, as he was no longer falling. As he began his path home, a thin smile once again crossed his face. He now possessed a purpose for this world. He would grow powerful, and crush any rider foolish enough to call himself King!

Road : Shadow Road

Base: None
Regalia: None

The shadow road, a road for those who dwell in shadow, who hunger to be just a notch better than their target in the light. That is not to say that Shadow riders would resemble a brotherhood if together, as they have no bound philosophical understanding. The road is merely a road, not the cause, philosophy, or goal. Nevertheless, all riders of this road are naturally dark personalities, ranging from mildly sadistic to outright hostile. The proverb, “the brightest light casts the darkest shadow” applies well, as a shadow rider will most likely refuse to be defeated at all by a “light” rider. To accomplish this, they will dog them unto their defeat. Hehehe, got another one for this. “And in the end, all is claimed by the shadow.”

To do this, shadow riders harness a variety of different styles to match their targets, using their ideal of the shadow. This method is supposed to haunt the run with endless receptions, develop a feel for it, and then place the shadow where concentration will break under pressure. Rebellion against their target leads them to often use ironic solutions to defeat those within their grasp, those just ahead of them, the shadow’s caster. The strongest tool for a method this flexible would be the ability to undergo all which the foe undergoes, and then more. Most often, the canon element of the Shadow is its unforgiving persistence. Stamina holds the highest place in the skill of the rider, the ability to maintain the flow for as long as possible. These riders are bent on soaring for as long as can be done, and making use of others to arrive at this. Among all elements of a shadow rider is one: the ability to persist no matter the consequence; two: the ability to analyze things nearly instantaneously; and three: the speed necessary for flying high and fast. These base commandments, the laws of a shadow, can bring the shadow the only power it needs to grow with the light it stalks.

The core of the shadow road lies in the principle of succeeding. If the rider can evade the attack, again and again, then the need to strike harder disappears, does it not? Shadow riders push the limits of speed, not simply traditionally straight though. A rider will use speed not in the intention of being beyond pace, but for the shadow which remains constantly beside the target. In keeping with this, a shadow rider will employ the environment around them as a course to achieve maximum speed for full abilities. This can even be done in close areas by using calculated thrust and slide maneuvers. Overall, strength in the calves, flexibility in the ligaments and tendons of the lower body and abdomen, as well as a steady determination or willingness to continue at any cost is necessary. A shadow doesn’t just fade away as the light diminishes, does it? The ability to analyze visual images for the content which the brain actually processes quickly is crucial. An opponent will be well aware of a predicament, just like a primitive, even if they cannot comprehend it. And so the shadow must hunt them warily and adhere to their every step, because a surprise will lose the target.

Primarily, a shadow rider moves with calm, precise movements which are usually at an intense speed. The goal is simply to shadow your target as you ride, mirroring its motion type through an adapted pattern. This is a relatively simple “mimic” concept in which the rider analyzes the method of riding, and then adapts their own unique technique to produce as similar an effect as possible. This method allows the rider to fly as high as possible, if a little less than the full potential of the road. However, following an opponent brazenly like a shadow may lead to failure to survive their road. Shadows aren’t invincible, much as they like to look it. If the shadow uses the wrong niche in which to create instability in the run of the target, then the shadow itself could easily be eradicated by the power of the attempt. The road itself is a bottomless shaft, aka a road which still has not been fully plumbed.

Despite the appearance of strength which this review has appeared to display in this road, there are several drawbacks. First of all, this road severely limits strength and defense for the shadow rider. Shadows don’t physically overcome opponents, rather leading them to their demise. Next, a shadow rider puts a large amount of focus in analyzing the images selected by the brain, which allows abnormal understanding of events and tricks. However, this leaves the rider more vulnerable than most to the Over Rev phenomenon. In addition to these weaknesses, a complete shadow rider would be rather at a disadvantage in certain environments due to heightened dislike for light. Not only has that, but the use of the “shadow” method limits the final ability of the rider. The technique would require the finding of a method to employ the opponent’s methods better than they themselves can use them. Some methods would be assailable, but speed is not the solution to all, even when paired with high stamina.

Kami's Tricks
-Acrobatic Dodge
Rank: E
Stat Requirement: Defence: 15 Stamina: 15 Strength: 15 Speed: 15
Type: Defensive
In RP Description: The acrobatic dodge is unique to all riders. It uses the rider's strongest asset to creatively and artistically get out of harm's way. As a result it has many forms and can range from a display of extreme resilience to a flashy and last minute movement.
Ruling: If strength is your highest stat then after your opponent's attack he will be dealt damage = your strength * 0.1 (however, since this is your defensive action you will take the full damage from his attack). If speed is your highest stat then you may perform a dodge as though you had not used a defensive action this cycle however, you will lose no stamina for performing that dodge (you will still decrease you stamina by the damage your opponent hits you with (if there is any) but the normal stamina cost for the dodge will be ignored). If defense is your highest stat then decrease the damage you will take by an amount = to damage / 2 (the damage you take is cut in half). If stamina is your highest stat then you may rest as your defensive action (rest is normally an offensive action only but this trick allows you to use it as a defensive action).

-Shadow Tag
Rank: D
Requirement: Speed: 55 Total Focus: 10
Type: Special
In RP description: Using quick response and efficient movement along with good all-around knowledge of different riding styles the user of this trick can mimic an opponent quite effectively despite possible physical and theoretical limitations. Obviously the trick has its limits and it is incredibly dependent on the user's abilities. However, if performed well there is little that cannot be mimicked.
Ruling: You will do the same thing that your opponent did during his last cycle. The only difference is you will perform the action with your stats. If for some reason it would not be possible to do the same thing as your adversary (for example your opponent used Second Round Fire! and since you didn't use Fire! last cycle it would be impossible to use) then this trick does nothing. If your opponent used a regalia ability during his last cycle, this trick does nothing. If your opponent is 2 ranks higher than you this trick does nothing. If you're A ranked or higher and your opponent has 100 total SP more than you then this trick does nothing.

-Iron Will Counter
Rank: C
Requirement: Total Stamina: 110
Type: Defensive
In RP description: The iron will counter is a very daring and dangerous technique. By focusing your entire body into the counterattack a rider using this trick will ignore the opponent’s attack and will ignore any defensive actions in order to prioritize the counter. This means that the rider will take the full blunt force of the attack but at the same time he can react quickly enough to deal just as much if not more damage to his opponent. It is a very offensive defensive technique but it requires incredible will since any moment of flinching or of hesitation after your opponents attack and you will be left unable to perform the counter and you will be left simply hurt without the advantage of the counter.
Ruling: If your remaining stamina is lower then your total stamina / 2 then this trick does nothing. After your opponent’s attack you are allowed to hit him with a normal attack. The opponent cannot perform any defensive actions against it since it is technically still his cycle. You must pay stamina as though it were a normal attack. This defensive action does not reduce the damage taken from your opponent’s attack at all.

-Mirage Step
Rank: B
Requirement: Stamina: 120
Type: Defensive
In RP description: The mirage step is a highly effective trick that depends highly on the user's innate speed and his ability to figure out exactly when the actual step should be taken. The mirage step bases itself in a way by the principle of outrunning light. Obviously that is an impossible task since the speed of light acts as the universe's speed limit however, what is possible using incredible perception and training is to trick the eye using high speed maneuvers. By stepping at the right place, at the right time and with the right speed the mirage step can cause an optical illusion that there are two riders instead of one for a fraction of a second.
Ruling: Divide the number of damage you take by ?. ? is equal to 2 + the number of times you've activated this trick before. For example if this is the first time you activate mirage step the damage you take will be divided by 2 while the second time you activate this trick it will be divided by 3. Decrease your opponent’s strength by 50 until the end of the round after you’ve taken the damage from the attack you used this trick against.

-Shadow Twins
Rank: A
Requirements: Stamina: 150 Speed: 100
Type: Special
In RP Description: The shadow twin technique is a complex prolonged dodging technique which allows the user to mask his presence and perform extremely high speed dodges for a prolonged span of time. The concept is incredibly tiresome and forces the user to demonstrate extremely impressive feats of speed and precision. Simply put the concept is to block the light coming from a source of light before it reaches the person you are performing the trick on for a split second using your body and continuing your path of high speed maneuver. You perform that a few times and then constantly come back to make sure your shadows are kept "alive" or so to speak. It is in many ways similar to the after burner trick which leaves behind small wisps of flame but instead of such a display imprints of shadows are left behind. The trick is also much more straining but prolonged than the after burner trick.
Ruling: This trick will last until the end of the battle. At the beginning of each of your cycle you must sacrifice 10 stamina or this trick will be cancelled. After this trick is cancelled decrease your speed by 50% for the next 3 cycles (your opponents, then yours, then your opponents and then your speed is returned to normal). While this trick is active your speed is increased by 25% (multiply your speed by 1.25). While this trick is active all partial dodges become full dodges and all strained partial dodges become strained full dodges. Every time you perform a full dodge or strained full dodge decrease your stamina by 5 on top of the normal stamina loss.

Tricks:

Hawk Eye
Rank: E
Requirement: Defense: 55
Type: Special
Target: Self
In RP description: Hawk eye. The skill which lets a rider see with clarity the trick pass from one place to another. By seeing the potential jumps spots, the required tricks and the route they need to take to get from point A to B as fast as possible the hawk eye is a very useful trick when racing in unknown territory. Since riders using this trick know exactly where they are going they can go forward with certainty and without hesitation and therefore the lack of wasted movements and the lack of hesitation give the illusion of an increase in speed.
Ruling: Increase your speed and defense by 30 at the end of your next cycle. This increase in stats lasts until the end of the battle. Until the end of the battle if you are having a battle at another team’s territory and there are obstacles then you are affected as though you were on their team and not in the challenging team. This trick can only be used once per battle. If this is not a dash or a hurdle battle you cannot perform any actions during your next cycle.

Burning Mirage
Rank: D
Requirement: Speed: 70
Type: Defensive
Target: Self
In RP description: The burning mirage trick is a very disconcerting and effective defensive trick which makes good use of the heat produced from the friction of wheels. By creating enough heat to bend the light slightly the rider using this trick is capable of simulating a desert on a hot day and can create small and simple mirages. These mirages are used to confuse and make the opponent hesitate which has the effect of making the opponent appear faster when in reality it’s really just the opponent going slower or hitting at the wrong place.
Ruling: You can perform a dodge as though you had not used a defensive action (can’t do a block). Increase your speed by 50 until the end of the cycle.

Super stride 4 “Sonic Boom”Rank: C
Requirement: Speed: 110
Type: Offensive
Target: Single
In RP description: The sonic boom trick is a trick seriously focused on speed which pushes the user to his limit but which in the process seems to increase the user’s potential. By moving extremely fast and hitting suddenly without ever stopping ones movement all aspects of riding are increased while attacking your opponent. Obviously there is al limit to how advantageous this move can be but it is definitely a solid speed based trick.
Ruling: The damage for this trick = normal damage * 1.1. Increase your speed, strength and defense by 12 until the end of the battle. You cannot increase your stats by more than 36 using this trick. The stamina loss for using this trick is 6 instead of 3.

Reincarnation
Rank: B
Requirement: Speed: 150
Type: Offensive
Target: Single
In RP description: The use of velocity and momentum to power up a powerful close ranged attack is the basis of all speed based offensives and the reincarnation trick represents the pinnacle of that art.
Ruling: The damage for reincarnation = normal damage * 1.2. Increase the damage by 10% for every 50 speed you have. (for example if you have 200 speed increase the damage by 40% which will make the damage = normal damage * 1.6).

Shadow Twins
Rank: A
Requirements: Stamina: 150 Speed: 100
Type: Special
In RP Description: The shadow twin technique is a complex prolonged dodging technique which allows the user to mask his presence and perform extremely high speed dodges for a prolonged span of time. The concept is incredibly tiresome and forces the user to demonstrate extremely impressive feats of speed and precision. Simply put the concept is to block the light coming from a source of light before it reaches the person you are performing the trick on for a split second using your body and continuing your path of high speed maneuver. Status: A-Class
Road: Shadow Road
● A-T INFORMATION The shadow rider’s Air Treks now serve as a reminder of how his life once was. Simple, concise, and orderly. The sheer black of the skates remains ever lasting, the sole color to be found on the new design employed. The former tennis shoes were scrapped in favor of the oddly contrasting dress shoes now employed as the main body of the Treks. The similarly colored mounts, complete with the perfectly smooth black wheels serve to finish the inverse archetype of the youth’s Air Treks. Rather than follow normality and have personalized Air Treks, the boy chose to make his not only as mainstream as possible, but to make them defy the casual nature of Air Treks themselves with the formality of the business world. With this, the youth chose a mold which represents the lack of care with which he formerly looked upon the world with; the view of every thing not possessing of value as expendable. If these Air Treks were to become dysfunctional (as they frequently do, given the poor quality of mass produced goods), the shadow rider could simply obtain others of the exact same uniform performance and appearance.

● OVERALL APPEARANCE

Kami Kage bears the appearance of an orderly teenager; that is to say he is on the other side of the world in which a large portion of teenagers live. Being a person who has a need for routine in those uninteresting parts of his life, the youth possesses one of the most repetitive wardrobes to be found in any person’s home. His garb is a conveniently jet black out fit consisting of a black tank top beneath an equally dark T shirt, which fits closely enough to leave no inconvenient loose material. In keeping with the pattern obviously portrayed, Kami wears only his collection of black jeans, which he prefers over dress pants simply because of the freedom of motion permitted. On a formal occasion, his outfit shifts to include an also black dress shirt, cuffs hanging loosely over the youth’s pale hands.

These droll clothes are worn, day by day, to hide from view the thin, lean frame left by his frugal life style as a matter of propriety. The seventeen year old bears a certain level of toned muscle, which has now become more visible as a result of his busy year in the world of Air Treks, providing a reason to the boy to conceal himself behind his veil of clothing. While attention is something that pleases all, he’d rather not be some sort of weird and distorted idol for girls who didn’t want the more blatant muscle men. However, to counter this possible attractive feature, Kami’s body is a pale white, with a sharp quality to it caused by the eminence of his bones. His face is even sharper, with that tendency to appear irritated when lacking an expression, which makes him all the more unlikable. Contrary to this goal, however, smiling and otherwise behaving friendly, if not out going, has become more common to his actions. A large part of this is simply behaving diplomatically, but there are times when the smile can even soften the staring quality of his cold gray eyes, framed in the black locks of long, straight hair.

● OVERALL PERSONALITY

This black haired youth once sought perfection, seeing the world through eyes which respected only that which had achieved what he deemed ‘perfection’. Now he has come to a more reasonable opinion; perfection is an abstract concept, a thing which cannot actually be manifest in this imperfect world. This has rather adjusted the way in which he lives and judges the things around him, to a point some may consider extreme. His ideals have fallen from the hunt for perfection, to instead seizing upon and improving that which in life may be brought to be the new word of choice; ‘better’. This takes the form of several different activities, including the offer of physical improvement to those who seek what they may be able to gain from Kami, to the unleashing of frustration upon those whom the boy decides cross the line. This may occur rather easily, given that it only takes a small bit for Kami to begin losing patience, and there are several simple triggers that center on propriety. In spite of this however, Kami has patience beyond normal levels when working at something which he has decided to do with civility.

Despite his peculiar appearance and personality, he is not widely known across the Katsura High campus, excepting among the teachers who feel that after this amount of time, they have confirmed this fellow as a sociopath, and will be glad when he is gone. This feeling among the teachers logically comes from his former emotionless exterior, as well as the zeal with which he meted out punishment to others. Their real fear, though, emanates from not the signs of sociopathos, but the acknowledgment of his potential abilities. Kami was always a gifted child, and his cold attitude toward them confused them, allowing several of the staff’s imaginations to run off with themselves. Intriguingly, most of the staff came to similar conclusions, most hinting at something much more serious than a sociopath, especially when the boy picked up Air Treks. Oddly, relief did come to them when the ban came and Kami joined the ATP. Perhaps they thought that it would give him grounding in social morals, which may or may not have actually worked.

Kami usually experiences only the lighter emotions, which is admittedly a bit more than he had when he began riding. He focuses on seeming to care little about things, which isn’t that hard, given that he usually behaves like that as a standard. It was once uncommon for him to smile, but since the days before his riding, he has softened to the point where he smiles at jokes, so long as they don’t irritate him. He is usually either bored, amused, depressed, or just irritated; these moods shift almost at random due to the smallest external stimuli triggering a long chain of thoughts. Now, as an A class rider, he feels that he is entitled to these odd little personality quirks, being nearly invincible to anything on Air Treks. Or so he believes.

● Birthplace Kyoto
Birth date February 22nd, 1993
Birth time 10:00 p.m.
●Parents Raito Kage, Eliza (Pontmercy) Kage
Siblings Kiana Kage, Ichigo Kage
● OVERALL HISTORY

An additional Storm Rider team came to the territory, called the Riptide, which challenged Shadow’s Bane. The idealist team accepted, intending to abolish the hardest gang yet. End game; the entire Shadow’s Bane team was killed by the vicious Riptide members.
He then resided for a while as an illegal resident of Kyoto’s Nijo Castle, until he eventually enlisted in Circle Wind. Unsurprisingly, he soon acquired an apartment of his own, which he now maintains with money from yet another policing source. After the Osaka Riot, which Kami witnessed as a rider who was also defying the ban, he moved to join the ATP, gaining a source of income which had been lost when Circle Wind was reintegrated into the government.

● ROLEPLAY SAMPLE

Dislikes: Idiots

Hobbies: Reading any intellectual written piece

Fears: Failure at any important goal

Being helpless
Goals: Find or develop the perfect road

A-T Information:

Black dress shoe based A-T, Kami’s A-T are streamlined and grimly functional. There are no notable features in the devices, and are a part of a large collection of interchangeable skates and parts which Kami maintains to prevent issues with rundown parts. The machines are calibrated for optimum response time and control, as his style of riding creates a strong demand for accuracy in activity.

Road Overview:

Kami is the Shadow Rider; his road is initially defined by an innate talent for perception and analysis that allows him to understand the key behind most movements. At a low level, he can capitalize on this affinity for analysis by modifying his strategy to conform to a counter method, though this is but a rough beginning. In practice, the Shadow Rider is inclined to a complicated movement mastered only by an iron will and intense control of even the least muscle groups. Requiring incredible control and precision, the style can be molded to function similarly to almost any other style because it is approached in a logical and rational way, instead of the instinctive movements guiding most. Where this careful motion falls short, Kami has found the next step; extending this rigid control to a preternatural level of control over his biology, he can maximize the power offered by his muscles, allowing him to match and surpass those things from which he draws influence.

Appearance Overview:

Throughout his Storm Riding career, Kami has undergone a few changes in appearance. Now he stands at the same height as ever, short and light; his features are strong and acute, with an uninterested expression regular. His attire is plain and dull; black, close-fitting T-shirts and jeans for all occasions informal, and slacks with a button-down for any dressed occasion. As he dislikes unkempt appearances, his hygiene is excellent, and his hair is kept at a uniform five inches, perfectly smoothed in to a straight black ponytail. Whether standing or moving, his posture is stiff and almost militaristic in precision. When he so acts to achieve excellent speeds, he is hard to trace, moving faster than most are capable of following, which renders his appearance inconsequential. As a Storm Rider, his movements defy normal human expectations, and he appears far more intimidating when demonstrating these shocking skills than when behaving normally. Even more disturbing is when he is injured; it is an unsettling image presented when a man engages in combat with glaringly significant wounds. It is not terribly common though, given that he has achieved a level of proficiency so as to be all but invincible to opponents of the sort that he usually enters in to conflict with, save possibly the Extractors.

Personality Overview:

Kami’s personality has changed drastically throughout his lifetime, usually as a result of various life changing situations than the common transformation incurred in daily life. When young, he was happy and for the most part carefree; upon the death of his parents, this particular exterior vanished, leaving him to adopt a somewhat new identity. For years, he was arrogant and reclusive, housing his own opinions of many matters and drifting away from the commonly accepted path. Kiana, however, managed to instill some sense of moral uprightness in him, and he mingled the idea of the correct way with an odd belief in his own divinity. After all that he has experienced, though, he has slowly lost the large majority of his curious nature and become increasingly focused on an impossible ideal. Preventing any wrong from befalling an innocent is the most basic example of Kami’s vision; he desires this ability with all that he has left to desire with. Though he has acknowledged that it is an impossible goal, he believes that it would be criminal of him to simply cease to attempt to bring it about despite the futility of the gesture, and he takes this to occasionally shocking levels of commitment.

HISTORY

Birth Date: 02/22/XXXX
Birth Time: (Why do I need this again?)
Birth place: Kyoto City
Parents: Eliza & Raito Kage (both deceased)
Siblings: Kiana & Ichigo Kage (Ichigo deceased)

History Overview:

Raito Kage was an unsuccessful retailer whose business was Air Treks. Eliza Pontmercy was an adventurous young European girl visiting Kyoto. In the usual coincidences, the two met, and fell in love together. When Eliza’s family returned to Europe, Eliza did not go with them. She was already the happily married Eliza Kage, soon to be mother of Kiana, the first of two children. Raito introduced Eliza to the wonders of Air Treks, and she seized on to them quickly and happily. Together they rode the sky for ages, content to leap and fly, to feel the wind helping them along.

An additional Storm Rider team came to the territory, called the Head Hunters, which challenged Shadow’s Bane. The idealist team accepted, intending to abolish the hardest gang yet. End game; the entire Shadow’s Bane team was killed by the vicious Head Hunters.

Throughout the next eight years, Kami and his little brother were raised by their traumatized sister Kiana to form no attachments, to trust nobody, and to never drop their guard. Constantly pressured, the little child prodigy underwent an unfathomable change of personality, so much so that his parents would not have recognized him physically or personally had they been alive.

Kami’s Storm Riding career took off, and he moved through several phases including a temporary period of homelessness. At that, he entered in to law enforcement, making effective use of his A-T based skills for a period of roughly two years, during which he became involved in the conflict between the Organization and Storm Riders. After a serious near death experience, the youth backed out of the conflict and concerned himself with crime in Kyoto; during this next period, he became closely affiliated with Lachlan Fox, an Irish peer who had recently begun riding A-T. When the Organization launched its retaliatory massacre, the Kage devoted himself to finding a method to defeat the Organization. Since then, Kami has been engaged in protecting Lachlan and improving himself in preparation for the coming conflict.

CHARACTER IN ACTION

"I've spent weeks assembling data on useless criminal cartels, but I haven't been able to locate the central players; why is this?" The slightly frustrated officer was sitting at his desk, glancing through various files composed of reports, photographs, and even financial data belonging to the groups in question. This mess was certainly an interesting project; the criminal world had come a long way from the days when an officer could simply storm in to the biggest cartel and crush it to frighten the rest off like a pack of hyena. He had actually attempted that just a few weeks ago, and while numerous arrests had been made, the criminals displayed an incredible willingness to believe that their own groups would not break as easily. It was silly, and it was what Kami had been dwelling on for months; why were they all so confident? It had to be the ringleaders; if you couldn't find the ringleaders, there was always going to be money for the thugs to benefit from. This generation was turning in to a serious pain.

"KAMI!" The shout came from the main room of the apartment, and Kami reflexively jumped out of his chair, narrowly slipping past a stack of boxes full of files in his quick exit from the study. Kiana didn't scream for nothing, so this obviously demanded whatever attention he was capable of giving. He dashed in to the main room, where his eyes picked up the image of Kiana standing transfixed, holding a broom in a tight grip as her gaze focused on the television. The Kage turned his attention to the offending program, only to be greeted by a fairly nightmarish scene that killed all drive to react with surprise. He spun and moved toward his study, only to hear his phone ringing within the room; exactly as would be expected in this situation. "I'm going to work, Kiana; you stay here and try to dissuade any riders in the streets. Convince them to go inside, somewhere, anywhere, and hide their Air Treks."

The officer grabbed his phone off of the desk, flipping it open and listening to the expected. The strained voice of the dispatcher expressed that he was urgently needed in the office for some new updates directly related to the terrorist action. "I'll be there in five minutes." Fortunately, he was already suitably attired, including the presence of his Air Treks in place of shoes. Minimal preparation time was always useful, he reflected as he leapt clean out of the apartment window, which he had already had open for a breeze. Wouldn't have been a good idea to dive through the window while it was closed; unnecessary and expensive, especially as they didn't own the apartment. The Shadow Rider hit the ground running, sprinting at a pace that no normal man could rival as he rushed to meet this new threat head on.

It was without a doubt the Organization, and it was without a doubt the most urgent threat to have been issued in the scope of the Organization's actions. Actually, that was because the Organization had never done this before; they had always executed their actions without warning. It was never a threat; they functioned like a hidden group, unwilling to come out in to the open, save for the two times that they had taken open action. However, those had been moves of desperation, taken to accomplish some urgent purpose; what could possibly have catalyzed this sudden hostage taking? The officer shook his head as he ran, deciding that he had in fact paid too little attention to the threat of the Organization. They were not playing games any more; however incompetent they had appeared, given the scale of their influence, they were taking things up to a new level. Now they had taken a whole nation hostage, like some sick global parody of a bank robbery.

The Regalia; it all came back to the Regalia. Something about those machines was so important that the Organization did not see any reason to hold back in attempts to acquire it. They were using an open threat, attempting to use the public against the Kings, all for obtaining the Regalia. It was a murky situation, but the fact that the Regalia could not be handed over to the Organization was a simple one. Only divine beings could know what the Organization was planning, but it didn't take divinity to see that it certainly wasn't going to be some amazing act of philanthropy. The thing was, the machines were amazing examples of technology, but all they were really useful for was amplifying a single individual's potential. If the Organization truly had created them, then it obviously knew exactly how to recreate them or use the technology behind them to accomplish other purposes. Unless there was some sort of arcane ritual that employed black magic? Impossible.

After having contemplated these troubling happenings, the officer arrived at the headquarters, quickly moving through the building to the briefing room. Inside the room, he noted the presence of several other individuals, all fellow officers of the Air Trek Police. The tension in the room was noticeable, and it occurred to Kami that this was the first time that they had experienced a situation this intense while he was on staff. "Hello; how are we going to handle this current move by the Organization?" "Glad you could join us on such short notice, Kage-san; Miura-san was about to begin outlining our move."

The man in question didn't bother waiting for the rest of the greetings to file through; his hand moved and triggered a projector displaying the list of the Organization's bounties. "Originally, we had assumed that this will affect us little; however, it seems that the Regalia are not concentrated in Tokyo, and several are in fact located in this area. Thus, we will have a significant role to play in the elimination of the threat. We'll be assembling teams for a quick move on those Kings whom we have detailed information on, and we will attempt to locate the others with all of our resources. We will also propose the offering of a secondary, much smaller reward for reliable information as to the whereabouts of the Kings of this area. Our highest priority is the capture of these individuals and the minimizing of casualties of the ransom."

The youthful officer blinked in surprise at the words he was hearing from an individual whom he was fairly certain he respected. "Hold on a moment, Miura-san; are you saying that the Air Trek Police is actually going to cave to this terrorist threat? That's an outrageous idea; we can't afford to even humor the idea of dealing with terrorists and ransomers." "I know you're a Storm Rider, Kage-san, but I expect you to know the scale of the threat we're facing. Our duty is to protect the people, and exchanging those ten lives to save the lives of more is the pragmatic option." "Miura-san, do you have any idea the gravity of this situation? We have a duty to fulfill, and that duty is intertwined with necessity and honor. We are bound to serve the common interest, and bowing to the demands of terrorists by accepting this outright murder of a hundred citizens and handing them the lives of ten more, complete with our best chance at fighting them is a fool's bargain!"

"Appeasing madmen is no more foolish than antagonizing them, Kage-san! We may not enjoy our duty, but it is our assignment and the actions of the Regalia holders have never been affected by the needs of Japan. We're fighting a losing war, and the Organization will back down if their demands are fulfilled. They have to." The older man's voice was steely, and he clearly wasn't going to accept more dissent. That said, the words he had spoken struck Kami as the words of a child; a person depending on fair play and the words of 'others'. "Damn it, Miura, you're being played and you know it; nothing's going to get better once the Organization has the Regalia, and we're handing over the greatest threat they've ever faced on a silver platter!" The Shadow Rider, restraint abandoned, moved swiftly forward, tossing the hastily set up meeting table to the side as he grabbed Miura's shirt lapels in his hands and dragged him forward. "We're done here; your badge and your words are meaningless if you're going to bow to a coward's threat. I don't care if they're orders, they're dishonest and pathetic." "Be reasonable, Kami! We're civil servants, not damned paladins and superheroes!" "No, Miura; you may be a frightened bastard, but I'm not."

The Kage tossed Miura aside, then cast a glance at the rest of the surprised men in the room, searching their faces for agreement and righteous feeling. "Well then, men, our acquaintance must now come to an end if this is how you feel." Kami pulled his badge from his shirt; he wouldn't be needing it anymore, not when it had lost all meaning. Turning, he tossed it on to the upended table and slipped out of the room. As he stormed out of the building, his mind flicked from thought to thought, attempting to organize all the new pieces of information. He needed to sort out his priorities, and an important thought flashed to the front of his mind. The Shadow Rider took off running through the streets once more, his expression strained and his cell phone in his hand. "Lachlan, we need to talk; stay where you are and don't let anybody get close. I'm coming."

APPEARANCE

Eye Color: Steel Gray
Hair Color: Raven Black
Skin Tone: Pale White
Height/Weight: 162.56 centimeters to 52.27 kilograms
Blood Type: A+

Impossible.

After being critically injured, Kami's body suffered extreme atrophy during the recovery process. As a result, he is no longer able to stand and run about as normal AT require. He is currently confined to a wheelchair procured for his purposes by his sister, who took pains to see that it was equipped with everything which she thought would make it convenient for him. The wheel chair is black and appears to be a frugal design. However, the bulky arm rests contain a cooling unit for storing bottled water and other comforts that are best cold, as well as a well designed control set for the wheelchair's various functions. While Kiana commissioned the wheelchair without examining the costs, it is likely the most expensive item in their apartment by a long stretch. The actual structure of the chair is designed to function well under great duress, including falling dozens of feet and moving on unpaved ground. This may be somewhat useless, since the motor doesn't have the sort of output you would expect upon seeing what the chair is designed to withstand.

As he is currently in a severely weakened state, the youth will typically not be seen standing up or exercising. When out and about, his small frame is almost concealed by the wheelchair he relies on for mobility. His muscular structure has atrophied, leaving him a fairly emaciated figure, all skin and bones. Despite this, there is a new light in his eyes, and his expression rarely reaches such despondent or negative lows as it did in his times as a Storm Rider. Despite being trapped in a nightmarish situation, clawing his way back in to the realm of healthiness, he seems to have developed a new interest in life and questions more to discover than to contradict. Kami appears dressed in blue clothing, typically jeans and T-shirts, though Kiana demanded a complete change in his wardrobe colors. His face remains similar, save for the hair now hanging down to midback, as Kiana decided that the change would hopefully keep his mind off of other changes, such as the barely visible patches of tough, unyielding scar scattered across his torso from his conflict with a criminal. Also new is the presence of a small scar just below the hairline on his right, caused by his high speed collision with a window and the ground.

After all that he experienced, though, he had slowly lost the large majority of his curious nature and become increasingly focused on an impossible ideal. Preventing any wrong from befalling an innocent was the most basic example of Kami’s vision; he desired this ability with all that he had left to desire with. Though he acknowledged that it is an impossible goal, he believed that it would be criminal of him to simply cease to attempt to bring it about despite the futility of the gesture, and he took this to occasionally shocking levels of commitment. However, now that he has, in his own opinion, survived certain death, he looks on life in a rather different way. The youth has come to terms with his inability to stop evil, and resolved that it is both his privilege and responsibility to enjoy life much like a regular person until the time comes when he is capable of defeating evil. This self determined relief of his stress has helped defeat his ever pessimistic attitude, and now he is curious about a good many things, and eager to return to a level of fitness that allows him to enjoy other sorts of activities.

HISTORY

Birth Date: 02/22/XXXX
Birth Time: 9: 15 AM (Why do I need this again?)
