2D or 3D Fighting Games?

Which do you prefer?

2D Fighting Games (Street Fighter, King of the Fighters, etc)

or

3D Fighting Games (Soul Caliber, Tekken, etc)

I personally prefer 3D fighting games because I'm a big fan of the Tekken series.
Being able to sidestep adds a whole new dimension to the fighting genre and makes it more fun =P

2d, becuase i love the classics. And 2d buttons combos are easier to unleash than 3ds.(to me)

2d you cant bet the old school really wht fighting game right now is better the marvel vs capcom 2 it had the best char. and awesome graphics i mean i still love 3d fighting games but they have notghin on games like tht there is capcom vs skn 1 and 2 and chaos cant top them with 3c sorry XD

i like both 2-D and 3-D
they both have their pros and cons
2-D games are alot easier to play (combos and stuff)
but 3-D games are more realistic when you fight :^^:

Umm you mean order-sol? I think that's his uniform when he's still working at the ORDER of the holy knights or sumthin. And ABA, well she's, I don't really know anything about her nor plays her ^^

I am a big fan of tekken and virtual fighter. I must say that street fighter and king of fighter is good but that added dimension adds in more difficulty and adds to overall enjoyment due to it.

Despite my love for the DOA series (which has 2D elements), I gotta go 2D. Marvel vs Capcom, Capcom vs SNK, SF series, KoF series, and of course, the amazing Guilty Gear series. 2D just pwns shit like DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi.

I'm surprised at how many people like the 2D game more O.O

while i do like 2D games and can appreciate the classic feel to them i think the gameplay is so limiting because they are 2D and have simple control schemes.

I really prefer the 3D games more because of the complexity of it all. My personal Favorites are DoA and Soul Calibur, the sheer amount of things you can do in each game is staggering. In DoA I can rape most people just by countering every single move they try to use on me and in SC the number of abilities and combos for each character is just rediculous.

but the best fighting game of all time? well its a combination of both 3D but with side scrolling battlefields. you know what im talking about smash brothers son. greatest fighter ever hands down.

I have favorites in both, but 2-D still is my fav. Guilty Gear ownz anything other 2D fighter in terms of origniality and gameplay. I mean that in terms that every character plays totally different from each other.

okay king of fighters 1999-2002 was awesome, i dont like the new kof they have, the maximum impact and MI2, the players and the moves that can be performed are so limited. in kof 1999-2002 i can pull of like 45 hit combo but the MI the max i could do was 25-30 hits. there are bunch of 2d fighting games thats better than 3d, i also dont like tekken XP, i dont know y but i just dont like it
