Anybody here read the Saiyuki/Saiyuki Reload manga? It's a great bishounen adventure series, and in my opinion grossly underrated. It isn't half as popular as it should be. great story and great action.

the characters are definitely pretty boys =P
there are countless 'someone x someone' doujins online (though I haven't read them) for a reason -_-"
I personally thought Sanzo was the coolest character ever, almost rivaling Vicious from Cowboy Bebop in terms of "bad-assedness"
I mean a pistol-toting, smoking, drinking, cursing monk?
he wins.
and I agree that it's underrated, but of course it's usually the shonen-oriented mangas that are the most popular (ex: bleach, naruto, etc)
you can win them all =/

Saiyuki is my most fav manga and I agree, they're so underestimated! I ADORE the principles running in the manga, SO damn different from all that 'teamwork, emo, trust your friends' and stuff. Saiyuki is for 16+ and Minekura's masterpiece.
I could talk for hours about Saiyuki, but I think it's enough. It saddens me to see that it's not as popular as it should be.
And NO it's NOT yaoi, as someones had asked me once simply because it has pretty boys as main characters! The @$$0hole-ness of them is phenomelical! And the lack of emo-ism takes it even higher!^^

I read Sayuki, Sayuki Reload and Sayuki Gainkuden (the past lives stories of Genjo Sanzo's team before they were recarnated)... funny and it's okay though.
