Sleipnir looks like the team Koga's gonna face in the semi-finals... they're rated as having a 6.1 to 1 chance to take the tournament... i wouldn't put a match vs. the 9.0 to 1 Lion Heart out of the possibilities either. Hopefully there will be at least 5 matches for Koga during the tourney <_< to give them some development time <_< Kazu sux too much to win vs. Aeon atm .-.

Is it just me? or do all the seemingly best teams have the highest numbers when it comes to the betting statistics?
The teams that we know of:
A-Class
Material Candy ×8362 - 1st Round
Jiggy ×2261 - 2nd Round
Highway Circus ×525 - 3rd round
B-Class
Alumite Drop ×662 - 1st Round
The Wonderful Group Izuna and Trance Mask ×388 -1st Round
The rest of the teams all have under ×30 stats... And I presume that they are all new to the Gram Scale Tournament, since it doesn't list their previous rounds... If I know one thing about Air Gear, it is that teams that use helmets suck.... Except maybe Highway Circus.
I think that Oh!Great doesn't know how betting works.

Iunno, maybe every other team is S-Ranked and O!G doesn't want to give their personalities away... the best mentioned team, Sleipnir, is only revealed in silhouette.
Btw :P Nue wears a helmet :O

Hmmmm, We sure that those are battle stats? I thought the x### stuff were odds on how the teams would do.

According to the Sora Scans translation, it's in fact the stake in which they're able to bet. i.e. territory.

Stake = territory?
I just looked up "Betting Stake"... Turns out it means the amount of money bet or a particular team. So, total payout = Betting Stake × Odds + Betting Stake, if you win. (e.g. a 2$ bet at 8:1 odds = 18$, 16 of which is profit.)
So it actually has nothing to due with the odds... Other than the fact that if a bookie wants to stay in business, they better make sure that the odds are in their favour so that no matter who wins they have the money for the payout.
So, it turns out I'm the one that doesn't know how betting works, not Oh!Great. :)

Wouldn't that make the ones at the end(Sleipnir and them) the most likely to win? I could be wrong, but generally speaking the payoff for the less likely result is greater. A sure-win favorite generally has a pretty bad payoff.

After looking through all the teams, the name should be changed from Gram Scale Tournament to the Gram Scale Special Olympics. Shit most of the teams look like they're mentally handicapped. I'm starting to understand more and more why Kiric doesn't want these idiots to get the Sky Regalia. I mean seriously this tournament sure as hell isn't attracting the best and the brightest. The fucking tournament is a freak show, they all look like rejects from Jerry Springer.
By the way did OG ever explain how long this tournament is, I can't remember.
Something I just thought of, we keep hearing about wind riders and needing hawkeye/trick pass to become Sky King. If that was the case then there would be no need for this tournament. If you needed to be a wind rider with hawkeye trickpass to obtain the sky regalia and become sky king. Then only Ikki and Sora could do it. But since this tournament is happening then it shows you don't need any of those things to obtain the Sky Regalia and become sky king. Unless every team has somebody who is a wind rider with hawk eye trick pass.
What was the point of talking up wind riders if anybody could obtain the sky regalia. I mean wind rider this and wind rider that, Ikki is the next sky king because the wind blows him just like every character in this manga blows him. But yet every team here seems to have the potential to obtain the sky regalia and their leader to become sky king.
Anyways these are just random thoughts at one in the morning.

1/ It lasts till everyone's eliminated.
2/ The hawk-eye/wing road stuff was about those being worthy. Worthy != Requirement.
3/ It's human nature to aspire. I mean not long ago, Rolls Royce's and Bentley's were reserved for Royalty, now every rapper and wannabe rapper owns one. Man will always aspire.

Even though the rest of the team looks mentally ill,
there should be one or two Kings in each every team
or someone that posses skill similar to a King
otherwise OG could just skip the tourney details
and just move on to the semifinals or the final of GST
there's no point showing thrashes in GST isn't it ?

I'm really looking forward to our first look at Easy ETA, Dig and Blow The Beast. I think the fact that Oh! Great couldn't come up with a design for them at 211, means they might look awesome. whether they are awesome is a whole other thing.
Also, i have a feeling that some of the teams show ride a road as a team. i.e.
Sleipnir = Bloody Road
Fat Boys Train = Gaid Road
and
Lion Heart = Flame Road.

one or two king-level riders per team?
That's ridiculous. There's a reason a king is a king. Whether they follow a king's road is another matter entirely; I could even see some of these teams being part of the former Sleeping Forest's sub-teams. But kings? In every team? Right.

maybe not a king in every team but these teams are supposed to represent the best of the AT world. it would be bad if they were all just weak trash

There is bound to be at least one or two king level riders in most teams. Remember that these are all A-Class and B-Class teams. Most of the fodder wouldn't enter such a tournament as this.
Think of it like Football (Soccer). Only two teams will get to the final of the World Cup, but on most occasions, all the teams that get into the final sixteen boast at the very least, one world class player/talent.
Coming back to this thread i find it hilarious that Genesis send out two king-levels as fodder in order to take care of Ikki, we know that they have kings and other king-levels in their camp. We also know that Sleeping Forest is all king level riders and yet you all want to complain because a couple characters you don't respect might have a legitimate pivotal role in the final battle. When will you guys stop moaning. If Koga conquer the GST with only two or three King Level riders, then what was the point of the other guys? Everyone is there aspiring to be the best they can be. Aspiring for a level of skill that's able to conquer the tower. No ones there in the capacity of cheer leader with skates on.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, my question wasn't answered. Do the battles take place all in one night or over a period of days?
Ringo mentioned that the Hawkeye/Trickpass thing was a defining characteristic of a sky king. But it's not because you don't need those to be considered sky king. Also being a Wind rider doesn't make you worthy because everybody is worthy to become sky king. So once again they talk it up but it doesn't really matter. Hell Kiric could have become Sky king if he wanted the title. Hell you wouldn't even need to win the tournament, if SF is taken out. Anybody could sneak into the tower and claim the regalia.
Yep it's human nature to aspire, especially when it comes to power and control. That's what this whole tournament is about, a bunch of children fighting each other to grab power. A bunch of power hungry idiots, shit they're like Hitler and every other dictator.

Saa, hope OG! doesn't gloss over the other teams after giving us a small glimpse of them...
looking forward to Sleipnir in particular =d
@Carn: Well, going by logic the tournament shouldn't be only a one-day/night thing, that'd be quite hard-core Oo

You're right logic would dictate that, but this is Air Gear logic doesn't really exist. But logically it should take place over a matter of days, but how many days and how many battles take place each day. Hopefully OG will take the time to explain all of this.

The Bulls were A level; that is, supposedly stronger than the B class teams. Agito still slaughtered them all with no trouble whatsoever. To say 'at least one or two king level riders' ...I'd personally say you're underrating the ability of kings.

Eh, the Bulls coulda just been completely outmatched. I think there's a diff between a regular A/B class and the GST A/Bs, because GSTs will have more focus on fighting powers than Parts Warring. Honestly, if you've seen Sleeping Forest fight, you're gonna forget about getting enough wins for advancing to A-class and think of ways to counter friggin Crazy Apple and Kiric the human GPS.
Maybe Alumite's Drop lol, I wanna know their roads.

It took the BULS four years to reach a-class. Kinda says it all.
