please delete the High School of The Dead thread in the 'Other Anime' category. i accidentally made it in the wrong place:o

ok, so in some of the threads i saw that a few people like the
HSOTD manga, so i made this thread to talk about it.

if you haven't read about it, go check it out.
its great for people obsessed about zombie genre video games and movies, cuz its got plenty of them zombies.

How do you think the story will end?
Thats what i want to know, so if I could get your opinion on
it that would be great:D

I like Highschool of the Dead too. The plot is nice, even though it's totally unoriginal(just watch every zombie flick ever released in recent times for 'similarities').
Also, it's got lots of fanservice.

Even though this manga is just like all those other movies, I for some reason really enjoy this manga. Maybe because of all the chicks in this manga. This is another manga with terrific artwork. One thing that you see in this is that each character has their own story unlike the other zombie movies where everybody just dies or just trying to survive in the end without find much about them. So that is why I enjoy this manga a lot. With all the character romance and ecchiness in this manga, this is just great. Too bad it only releases chapters once a month. And the next chapter coming out next month is going to be a prequel (chapter 0). Well now we are going to understand more of Takashi and Rei's relationship, even though we already know the main points of their relationship.

This is one of my top 5 mangas, go read it, one of the best artwork out there.

like everyone that, it is like every zombiefilm, it is still funny and interesting
i can't say why it is interesting, it just has something, that keeps my interest

Plot(s) as in several.

We've never really seen the events that happen outside of the main group of characters, nor some of the insane subplots that usually happen.

Hell who would've figured that they would NUKE all of china and Korean!?!? Or watch one of the most heavily guarded people in the world get attacked!?!? I loved the part with the zombie Connie though! :D :love:

The plot for HSotD is pretty similar

Resident Evil Basic Plot: A large company known as the Umbrella Corporation is known for its household products and other stuff...BUT secretly they manufacture Biological Weapons of War (B.O.W.). There is this experimental T-Virus which is a viral disease
that when gets into your blood stream, you loose all senses and
loose all main brain functions too. The only thing you feel is hunger
and so basically you turn into a zombie...and so the disease gets
uncontrollable in some way (find out for yourself)
and the disease spreads and all these disasters happen in the country...

HSoTD's plot is basically the same with a few minor changes
and other stuff, like the setting (for HSotD its Japan) and yeah.
but the plot is basically the same.

i just wanted to tell you how awesome resident evil is...
can't wait till Resident Evil: Extinction (Third and last Movie)
comes out on sept. 21st^^
me loves resident evil^^

Not in HSoTD. Zero evidence. Only lots of early talk about a virus/plague between characters and totally unproven.

though there's a lot of fanservice, I can tell that it's not the main attraction of the series (but maybe a large part =P)

Yeah Raws of this are hard to get. It seems like this is universal for the book it comes in to! But I'd hardly call a 1 or 2 week translation/cleaning time 'long'. Especially compared to some groups that hold off the translation until the first tank or just hold it for 2 weeks so the demand goes down.

TRUE fan translations should never take more than a single day (from translation to posting the download link).

LOL in that case there are no 'true' fan translations. Scanlators have lives, and even guys like Sorascans who do only one manga take atleast a couple of days.
You know, sometimes I wish I could summon all future chapters of manga like Highschool of the Dead from the future so that I could just have a marathon reading everything.^^

It's a really nice manga... really... but i can't help thinking that one day, the events in the manga might just happen. Okay, it might seem like an absurd and dumb thing, but with the goings of science, maybe one day, thre'll be a zombie outbreak or something, and... *cringes* That's so creepy...
