What if Ikki, through some random and crazy act gives the people who lost the ability to fly... fly again?!

Just think of that big crow that saved Ikki when he was jumping (Rika said he had "wings" or the potential for it, even at that age), and Simca believes he can guide everyone to the sky, or so. Maybe he can give Rika some confidence at some point, like a climax, and through some sudden rush of inspiration...

Because this fight was ultimately over loyalty and the definition of a philosophical ideal, it's really no different than gang violence breaking up a family. At least Rika fought with Ikki over his own safety.

The analogy of that with gang violence and standing up for what pride/belief they have is a little strange but it works for this.

As far as I know there is no cheat involved in being a gravity child, it is their abilities, be it super human or slightly less than super human. Besides, the heights that they have set forth would have never been seen possible without .. well, the Gravity Children. Ordinary humans on ATs trying to reach that extreme height is also a key theme for Air Gear and it is mentioned clearly in one issue.

Rika and Ikki's fight was pretty intense as well but in the end, they were also both fighting for their own ideals. One wanted to break and fly through the cage (Ikki) and the other wanted to keep that cage tightly locked (Rika). There's a beautiful description of this throughout the fight with Behemoth or the chapters around that fight with Behemoth.

Ultimately, the bird has a natural affinity to fly.. even if you cut off its wings. ;)

Or she thought she could, she was really always at gripes between becoming Ikki's sole enemy (Sleeping Forest), of course since he was in Genesis. But as is her feelings, the situation's all complicated.

Let me tell you, if I didn't know that Kanon was a tuner.. when he was first seen after saving Sora and Rika then I would have thought that he and Ringo actually was .. or had something going. <-- Which would just mean that she's toying with Ikki's feelings and in the end, Simca is right, "What is Ikki to you, a toy?" .. not exactly what she said but close.

But anyway, I think there was a number of things Ringo wanted to show Ikki at that fated fight:
1) Her true abilities as Crazy Apple, the Thorn Queen of Sleeping Forest.
2) Test the capabilities of the new "Sky King" Ikki.
3) Fight him and beat him because she loves him and does not want him hurt.
4) .. I can't remember right now, brain dead. I'll come up with something that's relevant later.

I prefer Rika, because she carved the Sonia Road herself, and was the only raw human in the original Sleeping Forest. Ringo, although she may be better at using the road (a debate that I don't want to get into), simply inherited it.

Nope, Rika hates the road too. In the battle with NSF vs Old and New Sky King, she stated that she is only forced to use the road coz of her love for family member Ikki but she doesnt like using it to hurt people.

For me, Ringo.

Not because of her appearance, but because her character still has some mysterious depths. As much as I love Rika's past with Sora, I feel we've seen and understood her rise to Thorn Queen now. I still think Ringo has some fundamental parts to play in fighting/helping Ikki, or changing the outcome of Sleeping Forest.

And she wears glasses. Not enough AG characters have glasses!

Ringo never really seems to comprehend just how awesome just how cool her road is. Plus the way she was annoying to ikki and her actions throughout the plot really make me not like her. Rika on the other hand is just an awesome character.
