The old man from the parts shop-Ikki's principle at school know as Gramps. He seems to play a big role in this story even though he is hardly seen.he gives titles to riders and seems to be greatly resepcted among'st all the riders we see him around. He watches Ikki like a hawk because he always knows what Ikki has done and he helps him however he can. But there are alot of questions ,like where did he get his scar and how does he know so much about the at scene from it's inception till present? Why is he the one whom gives the names and the one Kilik gave the wind regalia to after taking it from Sora? Would you give something as powerful as the wind regalia to any old guy at a parts shop? Heck Kilik told the old guy to give it to whomever he felt was worthy of it.Kilik respected him a ton!! Was this guy resposible for freeing the gravity children or is he Ikkis dad? Details are hard to find on him but he has alot of pull with everyone. What is his story?

I guess his character will have a nice and interesting development in the near future..
Yeah, he sure is something.. Maybe he will reveal more of A.T.'s history...

lost an eye, uses at's quite well, principal of the school ikki goes to AND knew about all the secret rooms etc, took it upon himself to give ikki a new road/kingship, hung around with the fat lady's at shop

just goin from what we DO know about him, hes very important but how important or his origins we just dont know yet :) but im sure it will be revealed soon enough

Well the whole world is connected to AT..that seems to be the case, cause it turned out that Ikkis teacher (not Ton-chan) used to ride AT, the school itself has a secret room with an interesting key...(Nue knew about that place O.o) and Gramps is the principal of all that. He was able to see Ikkis potential in an instant. You could say that he led him into the AT world when Ikki was with a bicycle. I would say that he is a former scientist of the tower or one of its sponsors who has his scar from the accident in the tower. Prolly had something to do with the escape of the grav kids and i assume his that type of old gramps who could take on Genesis, SF, and the Triad at once but since his old he leaves the world in the care of the new generation...the usual crap.

Felt he was one of the scientist also and figure he got his scar from the tower somehow wondered if he designed the regalia just for the fact they were given back to him after Kilik beat sora .I cannot read Japenese so figured there might be something in a raw that was overlooked that someone saw or remembered.Just funny how og wrote this old guy in that you would really never notice much but holds the key to everything .I am sure we will see him before the tower and am cuious what his final role will be in the whole thing.God only knows might be Ikkis uncle.He knows everyones weakness If I were Ikki I would be begging him for knowledge. The story is young and there is a ways to go, we can only guess at the future but it is fun to speculate .

Yea this thread is about speculations so it cant be halped. Ikki begging for knowledge...hmmm lets put it in an equation: Ikki + Knowledge = !ERROR!
The old geezer is definitely going to play a lethal part in the end, since if nothing else we will hear the whole true story from him. From the beginning and the true history of ATs and the tower and such since im sure he knows these simple things ^^

Maybe the old man helped create the gravity children, or just throwing it out there made/used the sky regalia.

Well from what i can tell, the gramps is like a guardian to Ikki. He might actually knew Ikki's parents or be Ikk's gramps (all specalation). Well kilik respects him, so he might have been someone connected to the gravity children or a scientist himself. As more chapters come out, hopefully more about Ikki's past and him are reveled.

he might have to do with the experimets they were doing with at and children like maybe he does research on AT while others are doing research on the children. plus he knows ikkis teacher who also seems to know quite a bit about what going on in the at world also

I think that he is the guy who taught Sora the wind techniques. If you read the bit when Sora shows off the suction thing, Sora says he learnt it off someone.

If Sora could betray Ikki, then maybe Gramps would also betray him? He also may be just after the Regalia, and he uses Ikki for this purpose.

naaahhh, Gramps is there for too long, he is some kind of adult figure, Killik went to him after the battle against Sora to leave him Bagram...

I think that him is involved with Gravity Childrens in some way, Killik knew him, the school is weird and has so many secrets...

Ikki's crazy teacher speaks to Grampz about AT's doesn't he im not sure though. Anywayz i think that gramps has big part to play in all this. He is about the only old dude using AT's (apart frm kururu's dad's group). I really wanna know his whole role in this.

In all likelihood he's a king, since he named Ikki's new road and gave him the "title" of Storm King. Either that or he was involved in the project that bore the Gravity Children.

Ii did that about that before it is probely a king of someone in the GC project but i think that he is some sort of mentor later one for Ikki

He is helping Ikki behind the scenes latest example when he encouraged Kuru to help the White Wolfs beat Koga.It seems like he has the ability to manipulate the AT scene in Japan. I like the way OG writes him in the story only in key moments for little things that bring big results.

i don't think so that is because we see that when Ikki was given to this family it was done be a tall mem.

Maybe his height decreased with age? It can happen in anime; remember Shampoo's grandma from Ranma1/2? At age 16, height 5 feet; at age 300-something, 2 feet!

The old people contract with the years and in manga is really common see that old people are smaller than in the past, when they were younger. I think that this old rider really is uncle Minami.

He probably is just a person who was in some way a backer to the whole AT and GC project. He seems to be the type that slowly influences things in the way that he thinks they should be.

Funny thing is that we see him at the AT shop. We also see him at the school as headmaster. He knows about the Regalia and give Ikki a new title. But yet have we ever seen him actually do anything special with ATs?

I think he might have in the first chapter but I can't remember.
