This is the first tutorial I've ever done, so if you have any problems with it let me know and I can explain or fix whatever it is. It explains everything from turning the outline into a transparent layer to shading...hope it's useful. ^.^

Well... as long as the drawing is coloured... i don't mind whatever method I use... the simpler the better....

hmmm, your way is pretty good. just a little note. u can always use burn/dodge tool for the shading. and when it comes to more complex work, make good use of your layers. it'll save you a lot of trouble if you need to do correction/retouch. trust me i've been there...
also what i can say is, just fool around, on photoshop or whatever program you using, until you get use to the tools and stuff. you'll find ways to color that suit you better.
