Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is due to release in the US 12/30/08 or so

If you don't already know about it, it's part of a series of turn-based RPGs released by Atlus and available on the PS2

It looks great, and it's an interesting idea their means of calling their Personas is to put on a pair of glasses.

A certain niche crowd must be extremely happy about this....fufufufufu....

From what I've heard, P4's story is basically the same situation as P3, just with different characters, and setting. As well, there's no SEES group, rather it is just a bunch of random kids rather then a school club. Also there are actual dungeons rather then one really large tower that you have to scale.

The main difference I've heard in terms of gameplay was that you actually have full party control. As well, rather having to knockdown every target multi-hit elemental spells in order to get a "One More" attack, you only have to hit one. Social links are still in, and the game is set completely in a town rather having to journey across a land.

You also apparently have a date-able loli cousin.

I'll miss the evokers.
Going back to Gekkoukan after 2 years should be nicely nostalgic.
The character designs don't look quite as good to me, perhaps it's just after having such an affection for the Persona 3 crew.

If wiki is right, they use cards to summon the persona's, and glasses to look through the mist (which presumably is some kind of alternative to the dark hour.)
I love the return of the distorted piano and sax riffs for the opening theme.
I've got faith in them, should be a cracking game ^_^.

Naoto was too hard to finish on time especially since i was scrambling to finish everything else. same with Ai

I'm still finishing mine but i already managed to get 3 girls, if comparing i like this one because the stages are all different unline P3 you just go to the same place over and over again

finished my second playthrough, this time beating margaret and finishing all social links except the temperence

i ended up soloing everything after heaven because my MC ended up being insanely over leveled. that coupled with the fact that i was lucky enough to find an omnipotent orb was pretty grate. only person i couldn't solo was margaret.

it's not out here yet I odn't think so I'm playing my friends imported copy when I go over his house or vice versa

I manged to max chie yukiko yosuke naoto rise yumi fox dojima nanako and the soccer club guy so far

maxed all the stats and made a few booty calls along the way which I know I shouldn't have done because it wasted a day but god damn it my MC needed him some sex!

After buying Persona 4, my t-shirt finally came through! Although the PAL version doesn't have the artwork book (grrrr!) this has sort of made amends. Pity it's a LARGE, and from here you can see it obviously looks RIDICULOUS on me!

Oh man, I love Persona 4 (and Persona 3) but after 10 hours of gameplay i switched the console on the next day...........

Finally got round to putting some hours into this. Compared to Persona 3 it takes a LOT longer to set up the story and let your character off his leash. For the first 5 hours I was trying to leave the Dojima residence every night and had "It's best not to leave tonight." To which I replied, "If I was in my P3 Dorm they would be letting me go where I want!"

Ah well, some major pluses elsewhere. Being able to control ALL of your parties action in battle is nice, the soundtrack and visual style is even more amazing than before and being able to warp anywhere with the square button is a godsend.

How do you use your ally's special attack once you evolve their Persona?

And do you still get a Persona evolution even if you get to Level 10 through the lover's relationship?
