Rebuild of evangelion: You are (not) alone

has anybody checked this out. Nyoro~n has done a fan sub of the DVD. check it out at their site. It is awesome with slight changes that make it even more awesome. watch it till the end there are previews at the end.

I've seen it. It was pretty good, even though it hadn't really much new stuff. I liked this better than the original bunch of episodes that this covered, simply because this delves a little deeper in some aspects.

Isn't this part one of four? From what I remember, there's supposed to come three more, right? And the last will be a (yet another) alternate ending.

So, what are the chances of this ending being a happy ending? The last two kinda left me in despair. Especially End of Evangelion. I'm really hoping this will be a happy version. Of course leave the mental breakdowns and stuff, but make them survive and eventually defeat the difficulties. That's what I hope.

i just loved the original evangelion series that first aired ages ago, and the first movie of Rebuild of Evangelion that re-covered the first 6 episodes was really great.

I think the remake is alot better than the original series, a few improved designs with the evas (like with EVA01) and characters and with the same amount of gore.

and @reflector, i agree with you that the mental breakdowns and all the other stuff should be kept. Cause they are what make the humans in evangelion realistic. I'm pretty sure if i were to pilot one of those things and bear the safety of numbers of people on my shoulders, i would become mentally unstable as well. but i don't really mind the ending, of course i hope for a happy ending, but sad endings are cool with me too, as long as they don't suck...

You guys know that both the endings are the same right? the ending they showed in the movie was a visual sending describing what happened in the ending of the one aired on TV.

i hope they don't get a happy ending, i just hope they go further then asakura and sinji just laying there. i want to see what happens next.

this was not supposed to be a whole new thing. they just changed the quality, because what they showed in the first movie was just they TV series blowed up. this was done from scratch to fit on the theater screen and to modernize some of the old school things.

I'm fairly sure it's been stated by Anno that the Rebuild movies are going to have a new ending.

Despite the fact that the first one was mostly an upgrade of the first episodes, there IS new material. And it seems pretty obvious that the later films are going to have more differences...like Kaworu appearing before the last sixth or so of the series and a new Child and stuff.

yeah that is true it was supposed to be a remake with the same storylines for the first three film, but there are changes with designs and art. And the ending will be different then in the End of Evangelion.

Being a huge fan of Eva, im ashamed I have not seen this yet (I have head of it though). This time next year cant come soon enough (seeing how it took till about now to have a legit sub, its gonna be a while for the next one).

If they would make an happy ending, I'd probably sue them. The reason that I love NGE so much is mostly because that it proved that things doesn't always end happy. It was a serie that didn't cut out all the ugly parts of humanity. But most of all, the End of Evangelion is probably the movie who got to me the most of all movies, all time. It wouldn't have done that if it ended happily. So for god sake, don't screw up my best anime-experience ever. If you want it happy, go read some of those doujinshis like angelic days or something. >_>

Here is the low down for everyone to answer some questions.

Basicly Evangelion Rebuild is a revamping of the original NGE. New graphics and better quality are the main new things people notice first. The story has been tweeked slightly to explain things that were confusing in the original. Also a new female character is shown but we currently do not know who she is or what she is going to be a part of. Reports have been put out though that the creators of Evangelion based it on his life, not the Evas and stuff but what he was going through. At the time he wrote Evangelion he was going through a hard time in his life and thus the very dark and saddening story. Since then he has found love and his life has improved, and they believe this will be reflected in the final movie, Evangelion 4.0. Hopefully this will not ruin the story we have all come to love, but so far what I have seen from Evangelion 1.0(You are not alone), Im excited for the rest of them. By the way Evangelion 2.0 is being released this summer.

From movie 2 and onwards expect it to be very different. I cant wait for the meeting of Shinji and Asuka i hope it will be as dynamic as it was in the series no matter what changes they make to it. ^^

Im also (quietly) waiting for the Live-action Eva movie. It hasnt officially started production but if a studio ever actually gets the ballz to take it up...it could potentially blow away the cinema world!!! :yes:

The evas look great. Hopefully we'll see a lot of them. But man, I've got to say, that Shinji looks like quite the ladies man at 0:22. Ikari Shinji, total badass. And it would seem that Anno is still sticking with Shinji & Asuka as the OTP. Suits for me.

I can't help but to think that the animation is so much better than back in 1995. Pretty nice.

Looks pretty good. Gonna have to make sure I watch that when the sub comes out. As for Asuka/Shinji as the OTP, it's OK. I always thought that it was weird that pople paired Shinji and Rei since technically speaking they are related, right?

I've checked the RAW camrip, and seems like Anno decided to go Rei route this time. Asuka is 100% fodder in 2.0. Lol, Mari even hijacks her EVA and she gets "eaten" by Shinji.

Holy shit Shinji in Berserk mode is awesome (King of pussies being awesome? More likely than you think). Red shining eyes and all. Gonna wait for the DVD release before I watch it with subs.
