I think it's awesome. Its better if you think of it as a giant robot homage than anything deep or meaningful.. That's not to say it can't stand on it own but it's really a turn your brain off fun anime.

It is definitly one of the best animes of this year. It starts off slow, but the speed after that is amazing. The romantic, hilarious, and powerful storyline makes it one of the best. Besides, it has huge robots that only grow bigger and bigger. That's probably what I like best.
