Overall Personality: He is a caring guy,and used to be a happy and fun person though after the loss of his parents he has turned into a rather troubled individual with problems that he has to sort out, though he hides it well behind laughter and jokes and a care free attitude. He can only really become himself again when he is riding and playing his guitar. After having come to Japan and meeting all these new people, he has developed strong bonds and will do anything to help and protect these people he holds dear. After joining with Mr Adams in "The Den" though, he is troubled by the violent temper that seems to be coming out more and more, and is worried that one day he may do something that he later regrets.

Overall History: He was born in Japan but moved to Detroit America when he was 6 due to his fathers job (Guitar maker), he was just a average American school kid, apart from the fact that he was a Storm Rider which in America was not as big a thing as in Japan therefore he was the only one in the town where he lived. But the day before his 18th birthday his parents where involved in a car accident and both lost there lives, leaving him alone. His mothers side would not take him in due to the fact they never approved of his father, so he has been forced to move back to Tokyo to live with his grandmother who he only faintly remembers.


Roleplay Sample: It was 10am and Ed knew he was late....he just didn't really care. "What's the point in all this" he thought to himself and took a drag on his cigarette as he walked through the unfamiliar streets on his way to the unfamiliar new school. He turned the corner and saw the school gates loom up at him, he pulled his beanie tighter over his head to cover his hair. "Jeezzzz, this gonna be fun," he muttered to himself as he walked towards the main doors flicking away the cigarette butt and checking he had his guitar case firmly strapped to his back.

Description: A large mottled brown dog, looking a bit scruffy and generally unkempt. He is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a German Shepard. This dog follows him everywhere he can, following him to school, around Tokyo and anywhere he can. He only stays at home when Ed expressly tells him to, and when that occurs which is almost never, he sits quietly in the living rooms sleeping till Ed comes home. He seems to have a canny intelligence meaning he can work things out for himself, and seems to be able to keep up with Ed even on his ATs (Also is Ignition Lines Team Mascot)

Appearance: The Regalia core itself is set in the front wheel mount of Ed’s ATs, this wheel mount is slightly different than normal ATs to encompass the shift between the regalia looking like normal AT wheels and its true form. The front wheel mount is made up of many different pieces of material that are very sensitive to piezoelectricity. His rear wheel mount remains the same, meaning he does have some means of movement when the regalia is active even if it is very basic so it gives Ed’s ATs the appearance of normal ones. Though when the Regalia is activated its true form becomes known. Using Piezoelectricity the front wheel mount is morphed into a different shape turning the Regalia core on its side so that it can actually apply its directional force to the surrounding area. Also the side of the core opens up to expose its inner workings, so its mechanics can work to apply the force.

How it works: (this is a mix of information I have gleaned from Wikipedia and other sources, and a bit of my own personal conjecture)

The Regalia works on a very modified version of Piezoelectricity, this is the concept of certain materials are able to generate electric potential when they are placed under mechanical stress. This stress is caused by the mechanics of the regalia’s core, as it is applied to the surface of the material by direct contact with the regalia and material. This induces voltage and current to be applied to the material this voltage. How much voltage and how it is controlled is down to how the regalia is applied and what force is exerted on the material. This induced voltage is transmitted across the surface of the material and can, if it can match the vibrations of an adversary, cause them to become unable to move. Or if the induced voltage does not match the vibrations or vibrates harder, the material can be broken up or destroyed. Also on top of that if the uses of the regalia are mastered, control and manipulation of surrounding can be possible, due to the electric potential in the material morphing the shape.

Weakness:

1) Objects not in contact with the point of connection are not affected by the regalia. This means that if the point of connection is isolated, the regalia can only affect that isolated area, the voltage cannot jump from one surface to another, therefore to have any effect the surfaces must all be linked to one and other. This means if I rider has a quick enough reaction time, he can jump over the oncoming wave of voltage, and negate the effects of the vibrations.
2) Movement: When the regalia is in its true from he rider is severely limited in movement. As only one wheel can be used, as the other is unable to rotate due to the nature and position on the AT. Therefore the rider can only uses the back wheels for a rudimentary form of movement. This means only small leaps can be used to move around while the regalia is active, and he cannot control his movement while in the leap due to not being able to steer. So really his movement is limited to jumping form one place to another. The Regalia can be folded back up into its inactive form, if more complex movement is needed, though this takes time and while the AT is reverting back to normal the rider is unable to move at all, due to all the power is needed to morph the wheels.
3) Power: A lot of power is needed for the abilities of the AT to actually work, and therefore to gather this power the rider must remain standing still. This means that if the abilities of the regalia is used, the rider is nearly completely defenceless, and must remain standing still until he moves and the effect is broken. Also too affect a large area, more energy is needed than the energy needed to affect a small area, therefore the bigger the area the more time needed to stand still to charge up the area around him with enough voltage for it to be controlled.



Rider Characteristics: The Gaia Road and uses of the Gem Regalia is defined by two main characteristics one of those being strength and the other stamina. Strength is needed because a huge body and muscle strength is needed to control the directional force that the gem regalia exert on the ground, if this strength is not present the rider is threatened with losing control over the regalia and causing great damage to himself and the surrounding area, if anything does happen at all. Stamina is also needed for the following reason. This amount of force that is applied on the body due to the regalia is huge, and therefore a large amount of stamina is needed to keep control over the regalia for any extended period of time.

Abilities with Regalia:

1) Earthquake: using the a huge amount of voltage created by Piezoelectricity generated by the regalia a large amount of electric potential, which causes violent vibrations to form as the shockwave passes out form the point of contact. These vibrations cause the ground to break up as the shock wave moves outwards, destroying the surrounding environment and causing a huge amount of devastation. This shockwave losses power as it gets bigger, and therefore as the area gets larger the force starts to dissipate. Also this attack depends on how much power and force is put into the point of contact to begin with. At higher levels this attack can be channelled and focused causing a direct and strong attack.

2) Shockwave: Much the same as the earthquake attack in that, it uses the same principle, but instead of generating vibrations designed to destroy and break up materials, it combines with the material own vibrations, causing the adversary to become incapacitated for as long as the vibrations coincide with the bodies own vibrations. This happens because bone itself is a conductor of Piezoelectricity, therefore the vibrations can be matched and controlled to a certain extent, though bone is not as good as other materials as a conductor therefore, only limited control can be utilised.

3) Shock Kick: (Another creation to replace the Earthen Shield) This is a direct melee attack, combining both the acceleration brought about by the rear wheel, and the Regalia core in its true form. Using the rear wheels for movement the rider can leap forward towards the Adversary in a quick burst of speed. Then bringing round one of the AT’s in a forward kicking motion, the rider can send the directional force of the regalia’s core directly into an opponent’s body. This is a immensely strong move, which can cause a huge amount of damage due to the fact it is using Piezoelectricity as well, and it also means it can hit anywhere on the opponents body and still have a effect. This attack though has a few draw backs. One of those being that as when the Gem Regalia is in its true from the riders mobility is greatly reduced, meaning this attack is quite easy to dodge and once launched there is no stopping it. Also to move and control the Regalia at the same time takes a lot of skill and is also severally draining on the rider. Think of this ability as a final attack strategy.
