Kaito carries himself with almost a superior atmosphere to those around him. His face has a clear complexion with no discernable marks. His grey hair is usually spiked together in loose pieces, which hang around his head. Several of his physical traits had been taken from his 1/4 British heritage. He stands taller than most Japanese his age, with wider eyes. Posessing a light build, he appears somewhat skeletal with bony wrists. On his left shoulder is a small scar from an operation to mend a broken clavicle, done in by a biking accident. His knuckles are scarred from the many brawls he has found himself in. His legs are comparable to that of a sprinter, light and spindly.
When he goes riding, Kaito never leaves without his watch. His watch is the only thing that he carries that links himself to his family, a graduation gift from his father. It is a titanium Rolex, pitted and scratched with the continued abuse that Kaito subjects it. On the bottom of it is an engraving, "Grow to be the better man Kaito." Though it was purchased with the best of intentions, he continues to abuse it as much as possible, seeing it as a symbolic disagreement to his father's principles. For clothes, Kaito usually wears sharply pressed black slacks and a dark red short sleeved dress shirt with sharp creases in the sleeves.

Kaito, though normally calm on the surface, has a short temper. Though he was raised by a diplomat that advocated pacifism, he sees it as a joke, and all who follow it as hypocrites. Because of this, he deeply resents his family for idolizing his father, the diplomat. Many people think that he is erratic sometimes, and abuses his skills as a fighter, Kaito sees them as idiots and pays no attention to them. He is somewhat standoffish to others, even in the best of circumstances, instead shying away from others in an almost antisocial manner. The very few friends he has, he tends to keep at a distance. The only one that he had truely warmed up to was his ex-girlfriend, Marina a break-up that he is still bitter about.
When he is in a good mood, Kaito is genuinely helpful and friendly, though he still tends to stay away from getting close to anyone. He often looses himself in his activities, whether it be Storm Riding or biking, always going the extra mile to make the result that much better. It is because of this effort that Kaito's parents often try to show him off, presenting him as the perfect son. Whenever this happens, he makes a point of spoiling the opportunity, usually choosing to simply not show up.

Born in Hiroshima, Kaito lived there for only two years before his family moved to Britain as part of the Japanese embassy there. There, he was frequently bullied in school for his foreign nationality, eventually causing him to snap and turn to violence to defend himself. This, or course, brought friction between him and his father, with his father advocating a peaceful solution, while Kaito saw his actions as necessary and justified. In an attempt to solve his son's aggression , his father transferred Kaito to a new school. Initially, Kaito found the new school to be much more accepting of him. That changed when they found out about his nationality as the son of a Japanese diplomat. Once again he was bullied, and once again did he turn to violence to defend himself.
Despite being the troublemaker in his classes, Kaito still managed to turn out good grades, placing himself near the top of his class. Immediately after his term was up, his father took his family home to Japan, to Tokyo, and enrolled Kaito in high school there. During the first parent-teacher conferences, Kaito and his father witnessed another student being bullied by a small gang. While his father insisted that their interference would complicate things, Kaito saw otherwise. He defended the student, beating up several of the attackers before he was overwhelmed himself. During the fight, Kaito's father simply stood back and watched as Kaito was swarmed and severly beaten. When Kaito asked why his father didn't help, he simply replied that he was a pacifist, and that fighting as Kaito did was wrong, and he needed to learn that.
That single event drove a deep wedge between his family and Kaito. While his family sought peace through pacifism, Kaito believed in peace through any means, including violence. As he grew, he put himself in the middle of many fights, solving some by words, and other by violence. During his final year of high school, his older sister, Saya, eloped with her boyfriend, having been denied the right to marry him simply because he was a soldier in the Japanese army. Once graduated Kaito took a year off, before enrolling in balistic physics and promptly moving out. In his first year, he started dating Marina, a relationship which lasted for a year and a half before it ended abruptly after Marina thought that Kaito had attacked one of her friends, something which Kaito firmly claims he had nothing to do with.

Today was a good day for Kaito. His professors had seen it to make sure that no one went home with homework for Halloween, and he had avoided all of the tough jobs at the bike shop he worked at, and he got the email he was waiting for. Soon enough, he found himself with his ATs navigating the roads to the UPS depot. It was getting dark, a constant reminder of the changing seasons. Still, he wasn't going to let the cold drag him down, and would definately not let it keep him from his new bike. He had waited long enough to get it, and not even the hand of god wasn't going to stop him.
Wind whipped through his hair making him regret not taking his toque, as his ears began to sting and go numb. The trip didn't last much longer though, as he entered the UPS depot. A few signatures later, and Kaito found himself lugging a 30 pound, 4 foot long box out the door. He flicked the knife open on his multitool and opened the top. Sure enough, his bike was inside, disassembled, but otherwise in good shape. As he trundled forwards, he suddenly slipped, struggling to regain his balance. It then occurred to him that he had somehow forgotten that he needed his car to bring his bike back to his apartment. He begrudgingly grumbled, picking up the box and clumisly stumbling forwards towards his home.
