This is to RPGs as My Balls is to ultra-ecchi

Go buy now and make your life complete

Ecchi? Well, I didn't know that. I just started playing it a few weeks ago and got used to it's game system. Yeah, it's kinda cool with all those Personas and the fusions that you could make out of two to 5 personas. Not to mention about every decision you make is important as it will gain you some points at certain area (inteligence for example). Fun game to play in over all and a little challenging at some times.

there isnt alot of ecchi, its more of just a comparison between and my balls (the manga) in terms of how great it is

lol... actually, I didn't know it has a manga version for it (if there were any) but I just picked up the game since it did attracted my attention when I passed by a game shop. ^^

Actually, there IS a manga of it, surprisingly - and it makes me happy to say.
xD Anyways, I just LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the game SO much. <3 Got me hooked, reasons of why I didn't come on Sora Scans for a period of time before. =] The game was kind of challenging at first - but I over-leveled myself so it would make things easier for me. -_-'' The story-line is also good, too - lots of wicked twists that'll make you GASP like "OH, NO". It's one of my favorite games (probably my first favorite until another game sweeps me off of the storm).

Heh, now I know the reason of your long absence. lol Yeah, the game is pretty challanging. I have played many RPG games... I got to give this one a credit though. Besides... I'm kinda new to this game so I'll just have to gasp a little about it's game system.

About the manga for this title... okay... maybe I'll go and check it out... online of course. I don't expect such manga to be released at this country.

@Chiisu: I didn't know that. Anyway, I'm about to continue playing this game later so... I'll just find out about it later.

By the way, spoilers is [spoiler] [/spoiler-] without the " - "

Play.com is for Uk deliveries only - the image is only there until the PAL image has been released. I was referring to the release date at the top, February 2008 like Ray had said.

I was. If that ever releases in North America, I can die a happy man.

I would really like to get the FES US version though I had seen it's Japan version of it. Anyway, still reading the manga version... it doesn't deviate much from the game. Just that they had name for that main character guy.

Chiisu
01-31-2008, 10:30 AM
I heard they turned the main character into a generic shounen lead in the manga.

Katsuomori
02-01-2008, 07:18 AM
Generic shounen lead? O.O' I don't really know what it meant but as far as I had read the manga... I did notice that they made him like a hero of a day about almost every time...

I can't bear waiting any longer. WHY isn't Persona 3 out in the UK yet?! I swear in this day in age we could make world release dates... ¬_¬

Chiisu

If you're that desperate, just go get an ISO of the game and run it on an emulator if your computer is powerful enough. If not, burn it to a DVD and play it with Swap Magic on your PS2.

Any tips for first run throughs?

Chiisu

Try to obtain Armegeddon before running through Monad. It'll make the 10 floors A LOT easier.

Also, if you wanna Max out your social links first round through, there's an FAQ about that on GameFAQs

I want to play Persona 3, but I think I might just wait to read the manga...>.>...Either way, I have to wait, because I can't (at present) rent games...

*Sigh of dispair*...Oh, well, at least I have my computer, my games, and my TV to keep me company! XD Maybe I'll go replay Xenosaga!...No, that'd take too long. I'll just rewatch the cutscenes of the 2nd or 3rd one. XD

Chiisu

This is actually the type of game that would've been better left as a game.

Saying that, the manga is crap.

Chiisu! I need some tips.

Umm, let's see. In Tartarus, when I set them to "Priority: Kill Shadows", and they go off and kill them while I watch them (Not split up) Do they still gain exp? They never seem to level when I do. And any suggestions levelling up? Should I level them all equally? Throw some to the side and instead level a select party? Solo-levelling recommended? And how many times would you recommend going to Tartarus a week? I usually go once or twice, and spend most of the evening levelling charm/courage. (courage is maxed now, so drinking coffee to max charm)

Yeah, I figured that the manga would be crap compared to the game, just like with other game-to-manga titles. But hell, I have nothing better to do, so I might as well read it for the hell of it. XD

I actually never set my characters priorty to kill shadows =\.

Also, I believe you should try keep your characters equally leveled. The main reason for this is because this game actually requires you to exploit boss weaknesses. Each character has their own element, which comes quite useful when you're trying to keep your enemies off balance. The only person you wanna side-line is Shinjiro due to certain plot-twists that makes leveling him up a waste of time.

Solo-levelling shouldn't really be needed since you'll be using the Main Character all the time anyways, thus you'll be constantly feeding him experience. The only thing more you'll get from soloing is the fact that you won't have to share your experience with your party members. It's much harder to get around soloing though. If you're gonna solo, be sure to at least get through that section of the block with your party first.

As for going to Tarturus, it really depends on what you're doing with the game. Like if you're trying to get all your Social Links maxed out, you should probably go Friday since Karaoke is closed on Fridays, and you'll be able to go to school to drink the weird looking medicine the next day, if you're tired/sick that is (though, since you already seem to have your courage maxed out, it won't really matter). The coffee house is open 24/7, so really, it's really dependant on when you wanna go. Personally, on my new game+, I found that I would just grind through an entire section the night before a full-moon, as you won't get tired on those nights.

EDIT: On a side-note, if you plan to get through Monad, do everything you can to max out the Star Arcana and get Lucifer and Satan. The random encounter monsters in Monad are waaaaaay over-powered.

Ray

So should I bother at all with shinji? shall I keep him levelled up or just dump him straight away?

Shuffling is beginning to piss me off, why do recovery spells get first dibs on valuable skill slots!? AARGH

Chiisu
03-11-2008, 05:58 PM
Yeah, don't bother with Shinji. The reason for this is because:

Strega kills Shinji as a plot twist

When shuffle appears, I usually just try to get the leaves. Also, if you're having trouble getting the skills you want when you fuse Personae, you can actually just re-shuffle the skills you will obtain by going back and de-selecting your Persona then re-selecting them. I think at least. I let my friend borrow my game so I can't check.

Ray
03-11-2008, 08:53 PM
Lol yeah, by "shuffling" I meant, changing the skills on my fusing persona's. I've managed to conjure a Narcissus with all 4 elemental attacks to all (mazio, mabufu, magaru, maragi) at level 22. And that took about 200 "shuffles". Card wise, yeah, I go for green leaves > money > sword > persona (unless that persona is valuable, but I usually get them via fusing before that happens)

Chiisu
03-13-2008, 03:25 PM
It gets even worse when you're trying to bridge certain skills from a level 20 Personae to like level 80 Personae.

It took me like a straight hour of shuffling to get my Beelzebub all the immunity skills it can get.

I never know which Persona's to fuse and feel bad when i lose my old ones....so at the moment whenever i fuse a new persona, I register my old one's first in the compendium and buy them straight back out again xDD

Chiisu

Fusing two Personae is actually really easy to understand. Basically, each Persona has a tier level in it's own Arcana (example: Orpheus is tiered 1 of the Fools Arcana, and Lucifer is tiered 6 of the Star Aracana). In order to find the tier level of the Persona you're fusing, you just find the average of the Personae that are being fused's Tier Level. I think when the average is a fraction, it is rounded. 5 is rounded up.

At the back the of the instruction Manual (or at least in North America's) there's an Arcana chart, which will tell you what Arcana the resulting Persona will be, dependant on the two Arcana's of the Personae being fused.

Basically, you just match those two things up and you should be able to predict which Persona you will get via fusion. Fusing 3 persona is a lot more complicated. Or maybe it isn't. I haven't really taken the time to learn about that.

Yeah...i guess i'm just frightened that i'll lose a Persona I actually need, or training the wrong Persona up. There's so much freedom xD
